As bad as the playcall was, the execution was 100x worse. Simply make the tackle at the 22 yd line, where he caught the ball, and we probably STILL have a 90% chance of winning the game.

The net effect is that Daydream is a turd and should be replaced.

This. Moore so poorly performed on the entire play, and this showed during the season too..

Moore had actually been IMPROVING his play, this season. He took a bad angle on the coverage, but he should have NEVER been put in that situation. I had been saying that, from Day 1. Unless they were expecting a Ray Rice draw play, the deep ball should have been adequately covered...

I think he played better as the season went on. Played much better than his rookie year. I think he will come back even better and more motivated. I know if I made a mistake that big I'd do everything I could to become as good of player as possible.

Put in WHAT situation? To play his one and only position of safety on a deep pass?

The thing about that play is it stressed a guy who struggled with reading 4 verticals all year. That is why you call Cover 4 with umbrella principles there. As Bowen States, anything even intermediate takes up too much time and they have the ball on the 45 yard line if he throws to the TE in the seam and out route. Plus, if they keep him in bounds they lose 15 seconds before they can spike the ball as well with 2 guys going deep.
Mistake, upon mistake, upon mistake creates a disaster. And, DEN made plenty defensively all game long. I still want to forgive Moore, but that play is so freaking wrong in so many ways. |

There's no doubt that Moore failed, when covering the deep pass. I think Jack Del Rio ALSO failed, by not calling more of a prevent defense. Give them some underneath routes. Just don't let them have a quick score. I don't think Jack Del Rio gets enough criticism, for that play call...

I always like it when my balls, already clinging for life, are mangled even further.

He did improve from his rookie season, especially in his tackling.. But his coverage left a lot to be desired. His angles and technique are really flawed. He should be a man on a mission next year. But there should be competition to push him..

There was 40-something seconds left. You can't play straight up prevent defense, that's how you lose. Shannahan didn't play prevent when the superbowl was on the line.
Moore needs to do his ****ing job. |

All the pathetic losers in attendance to go after their scapegoat.
Can we get an analysis of all of the times Champ Bailey got embarrassed? |

Do we know for a fact that Bailiey did not expect inside help on Smith's first TD. The 2nd one was a great play by Smith but I'm not convince Bailiey wasn't expecting inside help on the 60 yard bomb.

In Defense of Rahim, the trajectory on that ball was like a punt. Carter didn't jam, didn't cover, didn't pursue, and didn't tackle. Same lazy guy I saw all year.

That's a defense? I think that makes it worse. It's one thing to get beat on a perfectly thrown bullet pass; but a high arching punt that the receiver had to stop and actually WAIT for?!? Shows just how bad he played it when he had 10 seconds to run like 20-30 yards and he effed it up.
