Default Trade for Austin Seferian-Jenkins?

Virgin Green is possibly injured and we are missing an intimidating presence over the middle and in the redzone.

Sefarian-Jenkins was a 2nd round pick in 2014 but has fallen out of favor in Tampa Bay, stuck behind Cameron Brate. The guy is 6'5, 260 lbs and runs a 4.56 40-time. He is known as an athletic freak who can catch and block.

The Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter kicked Austin out of practice early in the offseason because he felt he was slacking on the little things. Austin admittedly learned from it and has been praised for his work since. Whether he is truly refocused or not, you'd have to think the leadership/vets on the Broncos would bring the best out of him.

If we could snare him for a 4th or 5th, the offense could take a major step forward and score touchdowns instead of field goals. Would you guys do it?

Not much upstairs if i recall correctly.

Probably not a good move in the season to trade for him at this point.

But I am for adding a TE, but I know the FA market is probably wiped clean

I would be down for this. Take a good hard look into just how much of a punk he is, if it's manageable, throw them a late rounder and see what the counter is.

Yes absolutely, we have the lockerroom to be able to keep him on the straight and narrow.

We tried the whole "trade for an underachieving physical specimen at TE" thing last year.

If the guy is flaming out in Tampa, of all places, how in the hell would he do anything different where the standard is so much higher? Pass.

The only person really out there that makes sense, is Owen Daniels. Who knows how much he has left.

Bring Daniels back instead.
Save the draft picks and get Jake Butt next year.

If we are going to make a trade I would prefer it be for a young DT or DE.

Also Green is listed Day to Day. Good chance he gets to play some this week.

I missed his injury, I was wondering why they had "California Dreaming" John Phillips in the game late.

Vernon Davis did little to nothing to help us last year. In fact if he's not on the team, he isn't dropping critical passes against the Steelers.

I'm aware, but if we are looking at a RZ threat he's capable.

ASJ issues in Tampa were motivational. He was pouting in camp so they made him fight for the starting role. He didn't work hard enough in the off-season and the Bucs were not pleased with him.

With that said...anyone is better than Heuerman.

ASJ is a huge body, if we could get him for a 5th, its worth a shot.

Gonna be hard to see alot of rookies make the team next year with as loaded as this roster is.

With that said... we still better take Jake Butt in the draft.

We've got a ton of picks too. I'd like to see some moves.

TE and NT please.

We have a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 5th in the first 5 rounds.

We could use 2 DL, 1-2 TE, a CB if Webster bolts for more playing time, safety depending on Stew/FA, maybe another OL, potentially another edge rusher.

Depends what Elway does in FA though.

TE and NT are certainly positions to look at.

Lot of good FA DL, we'll see who hits the market though.
