Default OT- Huge Video Game release day

Trying to decide between GTA 5 or Fry Cry 4 any thoughts ?

It bugs me that GTA5 is pretty much the same game just in first person although after watching a review it looks pretty bad ass.

Anyways your thoughts.

I've always been a big fan of Far Cry. I really hated how all the main characters in FC3 were dbags of the first order though. DA:I looks sweet too.

I'll probably wait to get any games/new systems until the next Fallout/Elder Scrolls come out. Those are by far my two favorite franchises. Bethesda is ****ing awesome.

I was all up on FC4 . Loved 3 though. The game play was awesome. However even though I already own gta5 the fact that it is in First person now is very interesting. Looked at some clips on youtube and it looks pretty bad ass. So torn

The actual gameplay was incredible. It was just the characters that bugged me. I would go with FC4 and maybe give GTA another shot down the road. I haven't seen any clips but GTA in first person just sounds weird.

Anyone try Shadow of Mordor yet?

Yeah, I'm behind, but I'm hoping to catch up on some games this winter.

Playing it now. It's pretty damn good. Button masher for sure but pretty good none the less. Evil with in is probably the hardest game I've ever played. Playing it as well and now all of these are released. Madness !

Shadows of Mordor is pretty sweet. Its like someone took the open world design of Assassin's Creed and fused it with the combat system of the Batman: Arkham series while set in non-canon offshoot of Tolkien's Middle Earth. Plus, there is a really fun challenge system with the Orc Hierarchy that basically lets you manipulate their politics. Its pretty unique and kind of awesome.

So stuck between DA:I and GTAV. I had GTAV on 360 but didn't far into it, real life got in the way, but I liked it. DA:O was a GOAT tho.

I usually don't like riding motor cycles but that motor cycle looks great. Might have to buy both.

So I've committed the unforgivable sin of never playing DA:O. Can I jump into DA:I without getting too confused? I'm thinking of picking it up this week.

I think you should be okay. I'm pretty sure Bioware stated that the principles for DA:I should be new with only a handfull of call backs to the previous games for the more die-hard fans to enjoy.

Cool. I'll probably read a plot summary sometime today.

Am I right in my assessment that this is kinda a cross between the Elder Scrolls, Fable, and Mass Effect (not the sci-fi elements obviously)? With the gameplay mechanics being closer to Fable?

Eh....it's basically the heir to Baldurs Gate. Definitely some updates along the way, but very much an evolution of that style of gameplay. But, if you have played a Bioware game, like Mass Effect, some elements will be familiar.

I loved GTA V for 360. I mean I wouldn't buy it again for a next gen system, but it was a lot of fun.
