Default What are your plans for winter solstice 2012

Anyone throwing any winter solstice parties or end of the world celebrations?

We're going to throw a big Mayan themed party Friday night. There will be a Druids drumming circle (Druid group out of Santa Fe) Love me some drumming, belly dancers, snake handlers (friends of ours who have a giant python), burning of the Yule log in the fire pit etc. A Wiccan coven along with Friends and family who are either Christian, Mormon, Jewish or Pagan. I did something like this last year and it actually went really well. This year I'm going to ramp it up a notch.

It's my birthday, we have rented a bar, have over 80 people coming to party it up and see what happens at midnight. WOOHOO it's gonna be a ride.

Has anyone ever walked on hot coals before? I have a nutty friend who wants to set one up in the back yard for tomorrow night. I really don't think it's a good idea but I seem to be the only one... go figure.

I can't imagine the liability issues. I doubt home owners ins. covers such a thing. All I can think of is what could go wrong... which is everything.
