Default John Clayton is a Moron, but his idiocy tought me something

I was listening to that ****ing tool earlier in the week talk about SF and how they had absolutely NO chance to beat NE (I thought it was awesome, because he's like the Bob of ESPN and NEVER right.)

Case and point of his segment: San Francisco has NO CHANCE because they run an "Iron Man Defense." E.G. They run ALMOST NO SUB PACKAGES. Literally their base D 95% of the time.

They dominated that game on Defense. I was watching this exclusively, and I think Bellicheck takes advantage of people always trying to cycle to 'MATCH UP' and he exploits that. However, when a team just runs what they're good at, and not reacting all the time, it really ****s his butt-hole up. Teams aren't scrambling to adjust, they're just playing the next play. Takes a lot of that bite out of the NE offense, and keeps you on your toes, rather than your heels.

If you can weather the 1st/2nd Quarter storm against NE, you can beat them most of the time.

Anyone else notice this?

When the base D is working, wtf do you need subs for? The problem for 9ers seemed to be a)justin smith leaving and b)more zone than they had run earlier. can anyone verify the man/zone thing?

?
That is true and SF played nickle all night last night. That is what you have to do these days in the NFL. Play nickle most of the time and still be able to defend the run out of the nickle.

I wouldn't say the 49ers dominated on defense, they had some turnovers in the first half that led to points, but the Pats had over 500 yards and scored 28 points in about 15 minutes of game time. I can't stand Clayton either, but if the Pats and 49ers played 10 times I bet the Pats win 8.

The weather caused a lot of mistakes on the field, so I would not judge the New England offense based on that game. The wet ball caused several drops and fumbles. It was a special circumstance that a hurt a team that usually takes very good care of the ball. I did not see New England lost and being stopped by San Francisco's scheme, it was simply an issue of poor execution and missed opportunities, and that weather contributed to a sloppy game.

Clayton is a Denver troll lol.

Last year there was a segment on the best NFC teams and he was like "The Packers look great right now, Tebow can't play quarterback at all and Rodgers is the total opposite of Tebow." I was like WTF was the need for that.

No matter what NE does offensively, the key to beating them is to get into Brady's face and do not turn the ball over to them.

You do this, you beat them. Every time.
