Default Raiders - what could have been

Thank goodness the Raiders Organizations has been so incompetent from the top down. Imagine if they knew what they were doing over there. This could have been a REAL scary team.

The only thing wrong with the pic is the notion glen Dorsey is better than run dmc other than that the raiders suck

They IMO would still Suck. as long as aldaviss was coaching from the owners box. They could never get a real coach in their to make a difference.

The stud players would just move on the a real team when the rookie contract was up. The morons aldaviss took had little option but to stick. They were not talented enough to get better money elsewhere.

But yes they would have been tough with a decent coaching staff.

Goes to show how one team can rise from turd ashes, while the other team just bathes in it for years.

These hindsight threads are normally pretty stupid, but it's hard not to imagine a team with Rodgers, Johnson, Fitzgerald and McFadden tearing it up for a few seasons, then watching it all implode in a way only the Raider organization could accomplish.

the silly part to me is, if they get the first few guys...or even the first two for that matter it dramatically changes future draft positions

Only Orakpo and Greene fit the criteria.

I definitely agree with that, but consider all the chances over the years they had to improve themselves. Aaron Rogers and Fitz would have changed their franchise. But missing that, imagine Calvin Johnson, McFadden and Palmer together. They could be very dangerous right now.

The raiders also might have traded up to get Eli Manning had the Chargers stayed with developing Brees (and drafted Fitz, and I often remind my charger friends - Brees, LDT and Fitz...), though I don't know if the chargers would have traded with them.

You're still assuming though that the Raiders locker room / trash leadership wouldn't have somehow messed this up. That's a pretty big assumption if you ask me.

The sheer number of blunders is what boggles the mind. Just the Jamarcus pick and letting Moss go, change those two moves alone and the offense would've been worlds better. I used to say that if I (or any clear-thinking person) had GM'd the Raiders those two seasons, they would've had Matt Schaub throwing to Randy Moss and Calvin Johnson.

You could go back through almost anyone's drafts over X number of past years and, with the benefit of hindsight, construct some pretty awesome teams.

The thing that makes the OP so funny is that, in every case, they just listed the very next player taken.

Rodgers throwing to Fitz and Megatron really is a frightening thought.

Oakland and even KC for that matter sure have had some bad high draft picks but everyteam can play monday morning QB and go back and see who they missed on.

I will get killed for saying this, but I think it's better for the game if that is a quality organization. I actually enjoy the rivalry more when both teams are at the top of their games. Sure it's fun to lick the tears of Scott Tennerman, but lets face it, things haven't been the same for awhile..the West is a joke right now..

Everything is cyclical..enjoy the rest of the year and whatever run we have in us, they (Fade) won't suck forever (Chefs too..)...

Which is the point I keep trying to tell kFc fans who think they are one QB away from being back to contenders.

The raiders would have never stuck with Schaub long enough to let him develop like Houston did. It took him years to turn into what he is now and even saying that he is still not an elite QB.

Not with aldaviss running the team.

The only time in recent history they were worth a crap was when Gruden coached. He ran coaches off like some owners changed underwear.

So the assumption they would gotten better well is just that an assumption.
