Default What if Luck left Stanford after his Junior Year

His decision to stay drastically altered the future of four different franchises.

Luck was touted as the consensus #1 after his junior year if I'm not mistaken. 9 out of 10 prospects leave when theyre told theyre going #1

So the Panthers grab luck at #1, We probably take Cam at #2, The Colts keep Manning and RG3 goes #1 the following season probably to a team other then the Redskins. And Von ends up on the Bills or Bengals.

Do you guys think we would have taken Cam? Do you think he would have excelled here under Fox and McCoy this season and down the road?

I really think Luck is a Bronco then. We know Elway had a hard on for him and the cost to move from #2 to #1 wouldnt have been that steep. (another 1 & 2 probably) He would have made it happen.

The Panthers were absolutely definitive that they were going to take Luck and not trade the pick. They even tried to hire Harbaugh, but he wasn't having it.

Harbaugh may have been the difference maker -- maybe if he takes the Panther job, Luck goes. (I don't know, maybe Luck hates Harbaugh).

Luck did, in fact, leave Stanford after his junior season. He was a redshirt sophmore in 2010. And I highly doubt Elway would have picked Newton.

We needed Defense. Cam would have ended up in Buffalo. Even with our QB situation at the time we never showed much interest in the QBs in that class

Hmm. With Tebow at QB and the Peyton Manning deal in the future, how does Elway resist a talented Quarterback?

Luck was going #1 and Carolina was not dealing that pick with Luck on the board.

well done I guess?
Q: I know you love these, so here's a great NFL what if: What if Andrew Luck came out after his junior year? If he comes out in 2011, Carolina takes him first and Denver takes Cam second (missing out on Von Miller, and one year later, Peyton Manning). In the 2012 Draft, Indy is then faced with either picking RG III or keeping Manning (and trading the pick), If they choose RG III, Washington misses out on Black Jesus. That's 4 franchises who had their course of history changed dramatically.

Cam Newton was a reach when Carolina took him, and doesn't fit the mold of what Elway wants at QB. I really don't think the Broncos would've taken Newton.
