Default HB - Ronnie Hillman - SDSU

I was thinking about talented HB options we could add. I'm not a big fan of LaMichael James outside of his ability to catch the ball out of backfield. Skillwise, this R/S Sophomore from SDSU has him beat across the board IMO. The guy is VERY impressive to watch. Sleeper in this next draft. We could find him there in the 3rd round possibly.

I don't want him because his highlight reel has ****ty music.

Noone catches him from behind though. Looks fast as ****.

I'm still HAM on Chris Polk, but this kid seems solid... No earlier than the 4th IMO though. Seems small.

Yeah, he's not going to be there in the 4th. I'd be surprised if he is there in the 3rd. R/S Soph. who has two 1600 yard seasons to his name. He's legit. I wish I could see him catch the ball more.

The last time I felt great about a HB coming out who I wish we could make room for to draft was Chris Johnson. This Hillman kid looks like a player. I feel just as good about him.

He looks really tiny though is what I'm saying.

And that's against North-eastern-western-central-wherever-the-**** State.

With the depth of this running back class I won't be at all surprised if he's available in the 4th round.

Darren Sproles was a 4th round pick.

I believe that's how Josh McDaniels constructed his 'short bus draft board' as well.

Noone catches him from behind though. Looks fast as ****.

For sure -- that kid's an angle destroyer.

I'm still HAM on Chris Polk, but this kid seems solid... No earlier than the 4th IMO though. Seems small.

He's listed as 5'10, 190 on his college page -- if he's 5'08, 185 in reality, I still think he's a pretty good prospect, as he won't be 21 until September. Give him another 2 years and he'll thicken up. If he's there in the 3rd and the Broncos DON'T take him, I'll scream bloody murder.

2010: 262 carries, 1532 yards (5.8 ypc), 18 touchdowns
2011: 311 carries, 1784 yards (5.5 ypc), 20 touchdowns

A better prospect than Knowshon Moreno was coming out, IMO. Nice post, bpc.

I agree, Hillman is special, but there are a number of smaller backs in this draft in addition to him. Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey and another good player from Western Kentucky, Bobby Rainey. All are in that same class with great speed.

For us, I like the idea of Demps around the fifth round to re-unite with Tebow.

Timed out well today... 4.45 and a 37" vert. Still like this kid a lot.

I wish people would stop bumping this thread -- I'm hoping to take Hillman with my #1 pick.

In honor of Ronnie Hillman's probable first NFL start, I thought I'd bump this thread. Kudos to bpc for being the first on the Hillman bandwagon!
