Default The 6 Best Overreactions To Obama’s Win

By Annie-Rose Strasser on Nov 8, 2012 at 10:36 am

Conservatives aren’t taking kindly to Mitt Romney’s loss. Indeed, the right wing freakout has been so extreme, and so hyperbolic, that Obama’s win has been heralded by many as the “death of America.”
Here are some of the best right-wing reactions to Romney’s defeat:

1. Neal Boortz compares Obama to a natural disaster.
There’s no such thing as too soon for libertarian-leaning radio host Neal Boortz, who compared Obama’s win to Hurricane Sandy, a storm that killed 113 people in the US alone:
Obama a bigger disaster than Sandy. But media didn’t create Sandy as they did Obama, so they feel free to report the destruction.
— Neal Boortz (@Talkmaster) October 30, 2012
2. Victoria Jackson cries, says “America died.” The Saturday Night Live star who turned into an anti-gay right winger took Romney’s loss very, very seriously:
I can’t stop crying.America died.
— Victoria Jackson (@vicjackshow) November 7, 2012
3. The Cincinnati Tea Party declares the death of America. Ohio was the state that pushed Obama over the 270 electoral vote threshold. For Tea Partiers in the state, that was hard to handle. One Cincinnati group’s website claimed America had committed suicide:

4. Rush Limbaugh blames women. Limbaugh, the conservative radio host who seems unable to stop himself from spewing misogny at every opportunity, blamed the gender gap for Obama’s victory, and women for falling into Obama’s trap: “He treats them like vaginas and they say he’s my man,” Limbaugh said on his show.

5. Donald Trump calls for revolution.
Trump, whose role in the election has largely been scare-mongering on Twitter, tweeted out this call to arms, but deleted the tweet — and others — later. Perhaps he realized that Obama had in fact won the popular vote:

6. Glenn Beck tells people to buy guns. On his radio show, former Fox host Glenn Beck lamented the downgrade of the country, but promised “I won’t make a deal with the devil… I will tell you last week we purchased more farmland as a family. May I recommend if you have a chance to buy farmland, you buy farmland. If you live in the east may I recommend get the hell out of the east. Find a place where you are surrounded by like-minded people and the best way to find those people is, you should probably look at the maps on how counties voted… May I highly suggest you get grandfathered in to the second amendment today. Oh and don’t forget the ammunition.” Watch it:

How did a complete idiot like Trump get so rich? There must have been more than just a little dumb luck involved.

Here are my favorite "SOCIALISM!!!" freakouts:

A cool Free Republic guy wrote a letter to the Queen, asking to be part of England again because of soshalism,

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2956850/posts

Quote:
Your Majesty,

We, the people of the former American colonies, would like to offer our most sincere apology over that little misunderstanding we had 236 years ago. Had we known that we were going to be subjects anyway, we could have saved a lot of trouble and hard feelings.

We were under the mistaken belief that we would be free, sovereign citizens; we believed that our hard work would yield its own rewards without someone coming along and taking what we built in the name of “Fairness”. We thought our laws and Constitution would protect us from a foreign born dictator, and our freedom to worship would prevent us from becoming a corrupt, morally bankrupt society (silly us).

Little did we know that our own free press would intentionally sabotage, deceive and withhold the truth from us in order to reelect a Socialist that still holds distain for our nation and contempt for its founding principles. Nor did we believe that there would be so many citizens dependent on government handouts that they would blindly elect an unqualified charlatan, let alone reelect him.

Anyway, Your Grace, we are truly sorry and humbly sincerely beg your forgiveness. If you can find it in your heart to forgive us and take us back, we promise never to trade British oppression for Socialist tyranny again.

Your most humble servants,

The American People

A lady drunk on "buttershots" (seriously what are those?) posts an epic 25 minute rant on Youtube, blaming her friends who didn't "share her posts on facebook!" as well as "GAY RON PAUL SUPPORTERS" and "GO TO HELL LIBERTARIANS" It's really a great listen. Socialism, obamaphones, etc.

Here's a friendly Libertarian's reaction,

http://www.libertarianrepublican.net...rica-only.html

Quote:
Do you work for someone who voted for Obama? Quit your job. Co-workers who voted for Obama. Simply don't talk to them in the workplace, unless your boss instructs you too [sic] for work-related only purposes. Have clients who voted Democrat? Call them up this morning and tell them to take their business elsewhere's [sic].
My favorite part,

Quote:
When I'm at the Wal-Mart, I make it a point to say loudly to the check-out clerk, "EBT, what is that for?" She inevitably says, "it's government assistance." I respond, "Oh, you mean welfare? Great. I work for a living. I'm paying for my food with my own hard-earned dollars. And other people get their food for free." And I look around with disgust, making sure others in line have heard me.
Yeah man, you tell those Walmart clerks!

His dad was a wealthy real estate mogul in NY. Trump came up in the family business. Of course, he bankrupted it and nearly destroyed the whole thing.

A Democratic family member is dying of cancer. He wants you to come visit him in the hospital, which is within walking distance, before he passes. Do you go?
No. Read my original piece. I'm done with any and all Democrats in my life for good. And trust me on this. I've just had a pretty intense experience with someone close to me today, someone I've known since childhood. It's hard for me not to respond to this person. Very, very hard. But so far, I've held. If there is one person out there who I would break down my rule for it is this person. Lifelong friend. East Coast in fact. It's been 24 hours and I'm still holding strong. this person read the original piece I wrote. The email response from this individual sits in my in-box. I almost responded twice today. Even started writing the reply. But I pulled back. I am truly hoping that this person sends me an email with the following message in the Subject line: I have left the Democrat Party and will never vote Democrat again.
Quote:
You come upon a neighbor — whom you know to be a Democrat — drowning in a lake. You're the only person in the vicinity. Do you help him?
Whew! Now that one is really, really tough. I honestly do not have an answer for that one. You could always be a smartass about it I suppose. Scream: "Hey Joe, you sure you're a Democrat? Just say the word, 'Obama sucks,' simple as that. Just mouth the words 'Obama sucks' and I'm in the water."

Gun Sales Shoot Up After President's Re-Election

Some are selling ten times what they normally do, as customers load up.

It appears that one can’t have their Dow Jones Industrial Average and redistribute it too

Wonder if those same customers are buying up binoculars so they can watch for the black helicopters?

Kinda silly reaction on the part of investors considering the stock market always does better when a Dem is in the WH.

Drek explained this in simple, easy to understand terms, in another thread. Not as simple as "President I don't like was elected, so everything bad is his fault," but still pretty simple =:

"Buttershots" is a butterscotch-flavored liqueur; maybe 40 proof. It tastes good mixed with Bailey's.

How about all the markets dropping like a rock on the news of Obamas re-election and his plan to redistribute wealth? is that an over-reaction?

I'd call it an over-reaction to the "fiscal slope"

Yes, as you've been told in countless threads now, it is an overreaction.

Also, keep using the "redistribute wealth!" talking point. It's worked SO well for you in two elections now.

The next day when it was first reported they were dropping the people on the news were saying it had to do with Europe. I didn't listen any further because actually I didn't give a **** so not saying that's true, just what I heard.

These extremeist people are sad their team didn't win and want to beat someone up. A bunch of over dramatic idiots if you ask me.

Well its safe to say many on both sides take it personal. Look how contentious it got when Bush beat Gore. Really in many ways that was the start of really harsh politics. That and the repubs war against Clinton. Really those 2 things IMO are what led to things like the Senate leader being as vicious in his attacks of the repub nominee etc etc. Usually the leader of the houses is a bit more measured then that as you dont want to try and make deals with people who personally don't like you. its hard to work like that.

Maybe the fact they are forced to deal (sequestration) will lead to some cross asile friendships being mended and more deal making.

Still the big issue not even being talked about. Repubs are saying only mor revenue through closing loopholes, Obama wants to raise taxes on the rich, they only have a couple months to make a deal.

Pretty bad situation considering the Senate leader called Romney a tax cheat etc etc. Some Repubs still have power and won't forget the election. Obama not sitting as pretty as people think.

That's one thing that turned me off, about Romney. He seemed to agree that it was a lack of money problem, rather than a spending problem. Don't give me the Big Bird crap. PBS funding is a MINUTE portion of the federal government spending. I never liked Romney, and I wish the Republicans had chosen a different candidate...
