More importantly there will be a large numbers that will not have a clue as to how to take care of themselves and their families when systems do break down be it natural disaster, war, false flag or economic collapse.

What, in your opinion, would be the best indicator of whether I'm ready for a natural disaster?

- I can throw a spiral.

You misunderstand me. It is not the father's lack of athletic ability I find harmful it is the pervasive media portrayal of men being weak and helpless.

Just to take one small issue out of the thousands presented by such an idea: Has anybody looked at what the combination of climate change and population growth has done to this planet and then projected forward the outcome of aging being reversed and people living much longer?

I think the human capacity for innovation outpaces the human capacity to evolve the consciousness needed to deal with much of the innovation. In simple terms: We invent the internet and then use it for porno. I rest my case.

The Singularity has been around as a concept for decades. Kurzweil just wrote a book presenting the supporting evidence and predicting when it will occur.

It's based on the Law of Accellerating Returns, which posits that technological advance is increasing as time goes by. An example of this is "Moore's Law" created by Intel founder Gordon Moore in the 1960s. It states that the number of transistors that can fit on a single microprocessor will double every 2 years. Not only has it proven accurate, but, as Kurzweil has pointed out, it has increased to every year.

So the Singularity is when technological innovation reaches the point of the curve that is almost vertical and advances come so fast they seem instantaneous. After that it's becomes imposible to predict what happens.
