Default Report: Broncos expect at least one more year from Manning.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet
Only 1 caveat for the #Broncos & Peyton Manning, who has kept to himself his firm plans: If he wins the Super Bowl, may walk into the sunset

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Broncos "expect" and are "planning" on Peyton Manning playing "at least" one more season.

Per RapSheet, Manning wants to "hold all records" before he retires. He needs another season to set the all-time quarterback marks for wins and passing yards. Brock Osweiler's frustration will continue. Rapoport leaves the door open for Manning to "walk into the sunset" if the Broncos win the Super Bowl, but we're not buying it. Peyton loves his stats. If Denver wins SB49, it might actually give Manning more incentive to play another year.

He'll play until either injuries start nagging and keeping him out (think Elway in his final season) or he's no longer playing at a top 10 QB level. He'll be over 40 by the time he retires, is my guess/hope.

Hope that crazy glue holds and his head stays on. Especially with this interior line.

The search for a new franchise QB will suck, if Os doesn't pan out that is.

Peyton Manning will play out the 5 year deal he signed with Denver....and I could see him playing past that, if he's feeling healthy and playing at a high level.

They're going to have to take Peyton Manning off the field kicking and screaming.

That dude eats, breathes, and ****s football.

I'm think Peyton will play this season and then the next two seasons after that....and possibly a season or two longer if he's still playing at a high level.

There's no reason to think Peyton couldn't play the next two seasons at a high level.

If he played the next two seasons, he'd basically own all of the career passing records, all-time wins record, etc....

I'd love to see him play this season and two more seasons and win at least one Super Bowl. Two would be awesome, but I'm not greedy and I know how hard it is to win one Super Bowl.

It would be perfect if Peyton Manning broke all of the records in a Denver uniform and won at least one Super Bowl, to become the only QB to win a Super Bowl with two different teams.

Yep that manning is just a stat whore. He's not committed to the craft being a perfect quarterback and always looking for the perfect game, he's just a stat whore that runs up scores in regular seasons and then chokes in the playoffs. He's not passionate about making the players around him better or even being a great human being off the field. Total stat whore.

I am SICK of hack writers putting crap like this out. Manning will play until he feels like he's holding the team back and I highly doubt a Superbowl ring will have anything to do with it (idiot writers seem to forget that he ALREADY HAS ONE). Assuming he stays healthy, this could take years. Douche writers like this obviously don't see Peyton come out of the game in the 4th quarter during blow outs.

They should focus on the real stat whores in the NFL - Bill Belichick and the Patriots. That's why the football Gods ruined their undefeated season. You heard it here first... Bill Belichick - STAT WHORE.

I would be surprised if he doesn't play out his contract. That means 2 more years. Regardless of whether we win the Superbowl this year and next.

And, if this team continues to build the Elway way....then, I wouldn't be surprised if he signed a deal to play another season that point.

Look, for PM, it's not like Favre, Elway, etc. He's never been mobile, he hardly gets hit, and his preparation is always top of the charts. He could play another 5yrs if he chooses to.

You are correct..he WILL play past his contract. He loves the game WAY to much to quit it now..

i'm expecting a minimum of 2 Lombardis from Peyton.

no way he retires without besting Eli. Eli has 2, so Peyton wants 3.

i'm pretty sure he's on a 5 year contract now. so a 2 year extension would be 4 more years after this one.

Well, I'm thinking we don't need to worry ourselves about Manning retiring after this season. So at least there's that.

Peyton isn't besting Eli there. Just not gonna happen. That writing appears to be on the wall.

Peyton never gets hit tho, so he can play until he's 50 and make 100M a year.
