Default Broncos can clinch AFC West next week at SD

It would be our 4th consecutive year winning the AFC West. Pretty damn awesome mark, from Tebow to Manning. Gotta love it.

It's been a wild, crazy run. I hope it can be topped off with a Superbowl win.

Nope. Because we might not get homefield. Seasons over! Read the Mane!

Looking at the ESPN Playoff machine, I almost would prefer to get the 2nd seed which is unconventional. #2 seed will most likely get the winner of colts and whatever team gets in last, either the bengals, chargers or chiefs. I like our matchup vs. them all. I see the AFC North getting the 4/5 seeds and that could be Pittsburgh/Baltimore. It's a significantly tougher matchup in my opinion vs. Indy or the last seed in the playoffs. Baltimore in particular has had New England's number in the post-season.

We need 1 or 2 wins for #2 seed?

i thought the nfl re-seeded so the #2 seed would face the highest remaining seed, which means it wouldn't face the 6 seed unless it was in the AFCCG

Beat Oakland and we win the division regardless what happens next week. This is a race for the bye and possibly home field.

We will be playing the 3, 4 or 5 seed which will be IMO, Indy, Pitt or Baltimore. I don't see Indy losing to KC, Miami, SD, Cincy or whomever would be the #6 seed.

Technically if New England wins out and we win the next two we could rest our starters against Oakland?

So we throw the game, and at the same time we make their draft selection lower, I see your logic there, lol. Always thinking ahead huh.

I believe the game against Oakland will be at the same time as the New England game, so we won't know if we can rest them or not at that point.

Not sure we would be throwing the game. Id take Oz against the raiders. Just would be nice if we are in the position to get a little more rest.

They'll move the game time to make sure we don't rest our starters.

If we get a bye, there is no reason to rest starters. They can play against the raiders until the game is well in hand, then rest.

Hopefully we won't have that decision. Hopefully we are playing the Raiders for HFA.

Season's not over. But when was the last time the Broncos have won in NE?

2006 was the last time. We have lost 4 in a row at NE. Not good.

http://mcubed.net/nfl/den/ne.shtml

The last time that the Pats won in Denver? 2003!

We just need any two games, and only if Indy wins out. If they lose one more we only need one to clinch.

That's almost a given. That will help a great deal if we win out.
That loss at New England is going to come back and bite us in the ass, but if we get to play New England again, which is a high possibility, our running game has to continue to push this team forward.
Of course we want Manning to get his throws, but what we don't want is NE to rush Manning on every single down like they did the first time we've played them. This time it would be a little different, we should be able to move the ball on the ground, hopefully score TD's and in the process keep Brady on the sidelines watching the show...
