I think I've underestimated the abilities of the Spurs' younger players. These guys are pretty good.

Agree. Lots of good young talent in Cleveland, and they're about to get another one. A top 5 point guard in the league, a double double guy at power forward, and a 2nd year two guard who averaged 15 as a rookie. Not to mention a center who had a pretty good rookie year and is about to be joined by another talented big man. If you add the best small forward in the game to the mix, they're competing for championships.

Just don't become a free agent. That paired with he's happy in Miami, his family is setteled down here, Miami gave him his first ring, Front office in Miami will always keep the team competitive, his close friends play for the Heat, Clevland is still owned by Dan Gilbert, the added pressure of winning with a new team...is what I believe will make his DECISION easier to stay with the Heat.
The reason for the media circus last time was the DECISION. He just won't do that again, IF he decides not to continue his career with the Heat. Just a horrible PR move on his behalf. I understand there are plenty of reasons for staying in SB (weather, taxes, friends, titles), but I'm not sure with the new model the Heat will give him the best chance for success. Time will tell.

Exactly. I don't want to come off like a homer here, but when healthy I think Kyrie is right up there with the elite PG's in this league. At the very least he's a top 5 while only being 21. Tristan Thompson is a double double machine (considering he didn't play nearly as many minutes earlier in the year, Waiters had a very solid rookie year (needs to work on his FG%) and Zeller showed flashes every now and again. Varejao is solid, but like many players on the Cavs, needs to stay healthy. While these players are all great, the Cavs have a lot of flexibility when it comes to the cap and an abundance of picks in the next few drafts. They will be in the playoffs next year and be a championship caliber team the following season with the right moves in FA and the draft.

As a Cavs fan I would rather have Otto Porter instead of Noel. We need a SF and I would rather not pin hopes on LBJ coming back. Then maybe package the 3 remaining picks they have left with whatever is needed to get Kelly Olnyk.

I feel like this year has been one big Kobe Bryant appreciation year. With the struggles and then ultimately the very serious injuries, the "will he retire" talk, there has been a lot of love thrown his way. And don't get me wrong, all deserved. But man Tim Duncan is incredible. This is absolutely amazing.

Duncan wants a ring for his thumb.

Parker was nails. But the difference between this year and last year is green splitter and Leonard. All 3 have progressed this year. Kawhis arm length showed in this close out game.

It would be amazing if the Thunder got Splitter in FA. He would be a HUGE get.

Sam Presti was high on him in that 2007 draft. He took the sonics job a few weeks before that draft but had alot of input on the spurs pick that year. Splitter was a gamble then cause he had to stay in Europe for a while but Presti's handprints were on that pick even though he left right before.

He pushed for Parker too. Presti was and still is awesome.

I'd be just fine with the Spurs winning another NBA title. The NBA elite doofuses wouldn't like it but basketball fans will sure like it.

my bad, I meant fans who don't have a preference on which team wins, but do like the game of basketball overall. I'd be happy if the Pacers won the NBA title too, for that matter.

I'm guessing we won't be seeing any maven posts for a day. Indiana could very well be up 3-1 in this series if it wasn't for a stupid coaching decision and brain fart by george

Sterns lover boy. I can't believe Joey Crawford still officiates a spurs game after challenging duncan to a fist fight.

I think you are right, and even though I am a Laker fan, Popovich deserves to be regarded as an all-time elite coach.

that's all well and good. but the biggest difference in that Cleveland franchise is going to be Mike Brown coming back.

people like blame him for a lot of stuff but he did wonders for that franchise and it wasn't just all LeBron.
i think he will do wonders for that D and for Kyrie's development.

they really need to make the right decision with that pick. they really need Otto Porter to fill the SF spot but Noel would be great for their D and allow them to move Andy V for picks or a player.

If it's against the Heat, agreed. Not a fan of rooting for the Spurs since they're a Western Conference team that routinely beats the Nuggets' asses, but in this case I'd totally root for them. If it were the Pacers, go Pacers.

Too bad Danny Granger is hurt though. UNM's finest!
