Whether the Chiefs ever return to Matt Cassel, stick with Brady Quinn or eventually turn to Ricky Stanzi does not change what must be the franchise's eating, breathing, sleeping offseason mission.
Kansas City must draft a capable quarterback. How something so simple could prove to be so difficult explains why the Chiefs are in the position they are in today. Which is this: Kansas City is now commemorating an unhappy 25th anniversary with an accomplishment franchises can't try to make happen. It has been 25 years since a quarterback the Chiefs drafted led Kansas City to a win. A quarter century! ... http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/page/...hefter-10-spot |

A SMALL part of me actually feels sorry for Chiefs fans. They HAVE a good defense. They don't need to to draft defense, with the first pick. There will be some QBs from which to choose, in the upcoming draft...

Jimmy Clausen's 1-9 record laughs at Brodie Croyle's incompetence.

they are easily the worst team in football right now and its funny, especially since every queef fan with an internet connection thought once berry, moeaki, and charles came back from injury they would be the best team in the league.

That's so amazingly pathetic. KC is a moneymaker for the Hunt family, though.

Ha and to make matters worse the QB's coming out this year ain't world beaters. They'll draft one and it will set them back another 5 years.
And when the Chargers let go of Norv, hopefully theyll bring in a guy with a totally new system that will set them back a couple too. I dont think their dummy QB is smart enough for it not to take that long. Which means this should easily be our division for the next 5 yrs, atleast. |

In the 1983 draft with only Elway off the board the Kansas City Chiefs selected Todd Blackledge #7 overall. Quarterbacks remaining on the board..Jim Kelly, Tony Eason, Ken O'Brien, and Dan Marino. John Mackovic picked Black Toddledge based soley on his performance in the Sugar Bowl, saying after the draft, "None of the others would have been our pick."
Blackledge played seven seasons with the Chiefs and Steelers, becoming the only member of the class of 1983 to throw for less than 50 percent and have more interceptions (38) than touchdowns (29). ![]() |
