Former Secretary of State Colin Powell on Thursday endorsed President Barack Obama for reelection.

“I voted for him in 2008, and I plan to stick with him in 2012,” Powell said on CBS’s “This Morning.” “I’ll be voting for he and for Vice President Joe Biden next month.”

One of the most coveted endorsements remaining in the 2012 presidential race, Powell, a Republican, said Obama inherited a horrendous economy and has begun to turn it around.

“I think, generally, we’ve come out of the dive and we’re starting to gain altitude,” said Powell, who served as George W. Bush’s secretary of state. “It doesn’t mean all our problems are solved.”

Powell also took issue with some of GOP nominee Mitt Romney’s foreign policy positions, calling Romney’s stances a “moving target.”

It is when there is nothing to support that either person has received AA benefits. Powell was a general before AA was even a real thing and he has been a good soldier for the GOP for a long time. Its unfortunate that because he has decided one candidate is better than another that people want to jump to the conclusion that its because they're the same skin color.

Let's see:

- While in the Bush admin, Powell (a known moderate) clashes with neo-cons in White House, especially on foreign policy. Resigns under less than warm circumstances.

- Endorses Obama in '08 largely on the basis of said reservations about neo-con foreign policy.

- Endorses Obama in '12 over a Romney campaign heavy with Bush neo-cons in the foreign policy area, cites foreign policy as major reason for sticking with Obama.

So, obviously, it's a "black" thing.
