Default Brandon Marshall - Character advice

From Twitter:

Brandon Marshall ‏@BMarshall
"A Suh. What u did to Jay wasn't cool. Great players don't have to do that."

I get the guy is sticking up for his quarterback, but with a track record (on and off the field) as long as Marshall's, hard to take the guy serious handing out advice on what great players do/don't have to do.

Thanks for the gif, couldn't find one.

These were my thoughts as well. Big guy landed hard on a smaller guy. Suh did what he needed to do to wrap up a smaller and quicker Cutler.

Technically a DL is not supposed to use the full force of his body and land on a QB. This could be a fine. Great hit though, man that hurts!!

First time ive seen the hit...are we sure this is the right Gif? Because from the reaction I've heard, I'm pretty sure Suh had him up in the air ultimate warrior style, and slamming his back down directly over his knee in an attempt to find his kidneys human pinata style. Where's the REAL gif. I don't wanna see this completely legal bull****.

That's all dependent on if the player can control that. With Cutler trying to rip himself away, and them going full speed together, not a lot of options. You aren't supposed to purposefully drive the player into the ground, which is a judgement call.

This is no longer football though. It's the NFL!

We can put to rest the questions about Cutler's toughness now, I believe.

Cutler is tough as they come... the whole "he is soft" argument was stupid to begin with. Hard to fault Suh for making a good play. Did he have to drive him so hard into the ground, probably not... but if he lets Jay slip away and he goes on to make a 50 yards pass play to Marshall everyone would be calling him lazy. Hard to be a defender in today's NFL. One thing, I bet Jay will stop wearing the long sleeves now. If he doesn't have those sleeves on he gets away from Suh on that play.

I thought it was some sort of jimmy the superfly move. This doesn't look that bad. Maybe seeing it in slow motion takes the violence out of it?

I think it was more a case of Cutler being soft mentally. Yes he is physically tough but in the mold of Phillip Rivers he folds under pressure at the worse times.

Ie not a "winner"

Think Elway, he is the poster boy for winner.

Good sack, don't see what else you could expect. He is doing his job.

That is like a cheetah nabbing a gazelle. That is a gazelle that is b****ing at his pack of gazelles for not jumping in front of him to sacrifice themselves.
Absolutely nothing wrong with that sack.

If that had been Dumerville or Miller taking him down, I would be watching that GIF constantly (kind of like the hit on Brady). Great sack. Marshall should keep his yap shut, he is not helping, rather just helping to create a perception that Cutler is soft...

Damn those defensive lineman making athletic plays and tackling the quarterback and what not. He should be suspended, fined and publicly flogged.

Hitting women is OK, but hitting men is not, apparently.
