He's definitely a monster. A couple sacks, a few TFL, inlcluding one really huge one on the goalline on 3rd down, a forced fumble. Just big play after big play.

If he had consistent help, he would be even more effective as the defense could not focus all their protection plans on him.

The lone bright spot on D for sure....But let's not forget he also dropped an easy INT.

At this point, we are a MLB, SS, DT away from a much improved defense. Problem is the longer we take to get this things the more other needs pop up (Champ won't play forever).

We need to move DJ back to MLB, Adams will have to do for now at SS and DT just stays a problem. Doing this we should get into the playoffs and maybe even win some of those. Mays will continue to get exploited by elite QB's with weapons.

This might be too early to say but Von maybe the best Linebacker since Tom Jackson. I Don't want to piss on Al Wilson or Romo but the guy is a straight monster.

‎EIGHT total tackles, TWO punches to brady's vagina, ONE forced fumble, and ONE pass defended! He's becoming more of a complete linebacker every week and everyone wonders why the comparisons to to faux L.T. that played for the chefs are ludicrous.

The forced fumble was straight beast mode. Like the kid with beard stubble playing YAFL beast mode. Just wish there would be some way to draft Manti Te'o and put him next to Von.

It's fair to say Miller was legitimately carrying the defense today. Major, game-changing stops in the backfield; sacks; forced fumbles and pass breakups. Speed and strength aside, I've never seen a player that good at shedding blocks; his ability is unreal. Too bad the rest of the defense was getting scorched. Did anybody see Mays trying to cover Gronkowski? Most embarrassing "coverage" I've seen in a while. Mays literally pulled a wheelhouse maneuver, circling around to follow Gronk, because apparently Mays' hips are locked and lateral motion doesn't exist for him. "Bowling Ball" could not be more descriptive of him. Nevermind the defensiveline, either, which might as well have not existed for most of the game.

Great game by Von! Stepped up big. 2 sacks, 5 tfl., 7 solo. he has special ability and I am very thankful John drafted him. Hope can continue to progress.

I do think it's funny whenever some posters on the Mane start whining about a defender he shows up big. Let's whine about some other guys to step up.

It has been this way a lot where it seems like Von is the only guy who showed up to play for the defense.

And think on this, Von is doing damage with very little help. He is constantly shedding double teams because no one else on the line is deserving of attention. He is taking care of business even though the opposition knows he is the only real consistent threat in the front 7(could say the entire defense) not bashing Doom, but he lacks consistency.

If Von could get some help his already elite output would skyrocket.

I was going to start a post also. Other then Von and Champ, the rest of our guys are nothing special. Doom is right there I guess but just not really showcasing the elite level this year. Decent but not elite like Champ and Von.

And how many times is this defense going to give up 3rd and forever, MF'ers. You expect to maybe give up a few here and there but through 5 games, the number of times this defense has given up a 3rd and long is simply pathetic.
