Think of it this way:

At the beginning of the season, I was worried that the streak of one-year wonders at defensive coordinator would continue with JDR getting a chance.

At the moment, it looks like that wont be a problem this offseason.

They have to make an adjustment at MLB. It's becoming very clear to this fanbase mays is not worth it. I said earlier the broncos need to score at least 34 to win this game. They scored 31. Points were left on the field.

Agreed.

Mays is an undersized defensive tackle that can't tackle.

Denver has to make a push for a trade for a real MLB this season.

Well that is well-established. I was pointing out that because the reason he is on the team is because he is apparently great against the run. Except he isn't though.

Beside the point.

I'll actually be glad if JDR stays on (at least) another year. Tebow almighty himself couldn't fix the holes on this defense in just one year.

Does anyone think that the Jags would be willing to part with Daryl Smith at all? Still has yet to play this year.

I don't know why the Jags haven't parted with their entire roster.

He would help the nickel D out when healthy if we could get him from them. That Allen guy has been playing well in his place.

They had their choice of some good ones in the offseason but instead thought they were better off resigning Mays for whatever reason

Watching Curtis Lofton make plays last night really pissed me off. He signed a deal that's only 1.5 mil per season more than what Mays signed, though it is a few years longer. Still, Mays was pretty clearly the weakest link on our defense last night. I think Lofton would've been a huge improvement, and he would've cost nothing but money.

The problem is no depth at linebacker... Mays is 'suppose' to be good against the run.. which I am not so sure of.

And I believe Brookings left the game with a concussion.

Hopefully DJ Williams is keeping in shape and will be able to contribute the last 6-7 games of the season. Regards of what people think of him.. he is a above average player.

So we should sit and do nothing? As said Mays was said to be really a run stopping MLB, problem is he regressed. The coaching staff sees it. If they can trade for Smith, who played under JDR so learning the system won't be bad then we need to do it.

They might need to consider Playing DJ at MLB when he gets back in the line-up. Mays is just killing us in coverage. Brookings did a solid job in the Oakland game, but not sure if he can give a consistent effort at his age, plus who knows how long the concussion will keep him out.

I'm sure they are but, counting on DJ Williams is like taking back a cheating ex. Only a matter of time before you get burned again.

The MLB maked the defensive call on the field. He makes sure everyone is lineup right. We already tried this with DJ and failed. He doesn't have the mental part (obviously) to handle that task. He said so himself after that season when they switched him from MLB to Joker (not sure if Joker was the MLB), or WLB again.

The only thing that makes me think of him playing MLB is the report that came out of camp that his playbook was no that of WLB. They asked him to learn another position... one they didn't disclose.

With Mays sucking the way he has... and seeing that Nasty Nate is not developing like they hoped for, that has to be a possibility. One that scares me much more than Mays does. DJ sucked playing MLB. Yeah... he had a lot of tackles that season... but most where tackles after the 1st down marker. Our defense was awful the season he played MLB.
