Default No God for Einstein

Contrary to popular belief...

“The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honorable, but still primitive legends,” Einstein wrote in German in a 1954 letter that will be auctioned on eBay later this month. "No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this.”

I guess he wasn't too hot about Zionism either...

For me the Jewish religion like all other religions is an incarnation of the most childish superstitions. And the Jewish people to whom I gladly belong and with whose mentality I have a deep affinity have no different quality for me than all other people. As far as my experience goes, they are also no better than other human groups … I cannot see anything ‘chosen’ about them.

Well, it isn't me. I'm almost sure of it. If I was god, I'd be surrounded by hot babes 24/7.

This is a pretty big discovery. The letter is pretty much near his time of death so it would more than likely be the final thoughts he had on the matter. Didn't most people assume that he was a non-believer? It wasn't a concept he really took seriously.

For years I've seen a quote purported to be Einstein's that said something about god being a mathematical certainty. There used to be a very popular poster with that "quote" on it. I was surprised when I read this.

Gotta salute him for the remark about "chosen" groups.

Nothing quite as repugnant as those types who believe theirs is the only "true" religion.

I am God. I'm also a little light on rent money this month so if you would kindly send me a 10 spot you will get into heaven.

Religion is as artificial as Obama's perceived aptitude for governing.

You can't show depictions of Mohamed.

You have to use a bear.

When all else fails, the liberals decide to make yet another thread worrying about gay rights or promoting atheism. Yes, these are such pressing issues. Let's face it, liberals are the bigots. As much as they like to claim how tolerant they are, they hardly show that in regards to Christianity. But someone state something negative about say Islam and they crap their pants, spouting their usual hysterical diatribes. Apparently liberals are the special ones that can always have it both ways in life.
