Phil Mickelson and Jim Furyk wrote another chapter in their choke-filled careers. And why the hell can't Tiger win at Ryder Cup?

re·tard·ed [ri-tahr-did] :

noun
1. (used with a plural verb ) mentally retarded persons
2. Idiots who can read a forum topic title and know they are not interested in the subject, yet can't refrain from opening the thread anyway and making comments on how they are not interested.

This was in Chicago?

Doooooooonn't Caaaaaaare!

It is OT which is not supposed to be on the Mane page. If it is, we that don't give a **** will be commenting on it. As an American, I guess it sucks but I think I will be ok for work tomorrow.

Well it's not Broncos related but at least it's a current sports related topic, not some Bacon Price Hike topic. And it was a pretty big event. If you don't like golf that's one thing, but this wasn't just some normal tournament with a normal outcome. I still think it's pretty retarded to open a thread topic you have no interest in and comment you're not interested in. Sounds like forum post stat padding to me..........hahahaha.

Other sports can be posted, and you can also go **** yourself.

Anyways. The Ryder Cup is easily my favorite golf related event. Got home from the Bronco game to hear about the epic choke job. It'd be hilarious if it weren't so sad.

Dont cry if this or soccer is mentioned on the front page of the Mane. Zona has been b****in about this and superstition threads so he needs a beer.

BTW, bacon shortage is a national crises. Much more important for the masses.

4 losses on Tiger "doesn't play well with others" Woods. Easy math.

I never said those threads were off topic or that I didn't care, I basically tried to imply that being superstitious, up to that point, was not working (2 losses in a row) and yes, were silly.

Hey, I saw on the news, this bacon thing is going to affect the world, not just our nation. They said pork prices in the UK were projected to be at an all time high, lol. People gotta have that bacon.

That was incredible... but then I'm from Europe so it was probably wasn't as fun for you guys!

Harsh to say Mickelson choked. Rose birdied the last two holes, both of which are extremely tough, to win it. Had Mickelson been playing anyone else he probably hangs on.

Poulter and Rose were the heroes of the week for Europe. Feel bad for Furyk, after the year he's had it was cruel that he had to go up 18 in such a crucial match.

It is what it is. On those last two critical holes with the pressure on, did he manage to hit the green? What did Rose do under even greater pressure?

Mickelson has incredible talent but he's been a choker his whole career -- I've watched it time after time. It doesn't happen every single time (obviously) but he chokes at a very high rate.

And you don't disagree about Furyk, do you?

In the old days, the majority of American professional golfers were raised on publinx, playing for dollars, trying to win their dinner. Much tougher breed of players. The Europeans didn't have a chance against them. These days, the American players are a bunch of gutless, country club brats.

No, it's easy to say Mickelson choked. You can also say the same thing about Furyk, Snedeker, Stricker, and Woods.

Nah, I think Furyk's lost his ability to compete under pressure.

As for Mickelson, he's also played some spectacular golf under pressure in his career.

Played the back 9 at Augusta in -5, including a birdie at the last, to win his first major. Birdied the last hole to win the PGA. Closed out another pair of Masters victories beautifully.

He's had a couple of bad losses in the US Open for sure but Winged Foot was the only time i'd say was a really bad choke job, he should have laid up.

Yeah, but you'd be wrong for the most part.

Tiger's just playing badly, he has been all week. That's not choking, that's just playing poorly. Snedeker just had an off day, it happens.

Stricker hit two incredibly clutch putts on 16 and 18. So he missed one on 17, he's human.

Golf is hard, and Medinah was set up very tough.

Just because someone loses doesn't immediately make them a choker. The other guys get paid too, remember.

A dark day for America.

Pearl Harbor, 9/11, the death of JFK - nothing compared to the day we lost at golf.
