Default Your Denver Broncos are #3 in offense and #5 in defense

#3 offense in Yards and within easy striking distance of NO. @ #2

#2 In points scored - (.4) points behind Indy @ #1

________________________________________

#5 defense in Yards and within easy striking distance of #2 SF.

Tied for 15th in points given up.

We could end up #1 in offense and #2 in defense in the NFL

That must be a mistake. I have been reading the Orangemane all day and the Broncos suck. Fox can't coach, Manning is a p***Y and a choke artist.

PPG allowed on defense needs to be better.

This is the main part but I would add improving on 3rd down defense. Faster they stop the opponent means more time for the offense to score.

Yeah yards suck. But since most of the teams have had their bye weeks, now is a good time to get a legit sample size.

The stats that matter:

They're 2nd in points per game on offense.

They're 15th in points per game on defense.

They're 9th in give/take away margin at +5.

One thing I like about this is even though it's only 9th, Denver is tied for third in fewest giveaways overall. The margin is more reflected in an absence of takeaways. But if you're not giving the ball up, you aren't doing things to lose games. And last year we were bottom five worst at giving the ball away. So this bodes well for our long term chances.

Also our points per game on defense took a big hit with the Patriots game. It is increasingly apparent that game was anomalous

Some comparisons of other teams offense, defense and give/take margin:

The Patriots are 3rd - 12th - and 1st (tie) at +12

The Colts are 1st - 18th and 15th at +0

The Seahawks are 7th - 10th and 11th at +3

The Chiefs are 14th - 2nd and 20th at -1

The Ravens are 8th - 3rd and 14th at +1

The Cardinals are 12th - 4th and 1st at +12

The Packers are 4th - 17th and 2nd at +10

Need to get down to 20 ppg on Defense. That's always my goal.

That patriots game really screwed us statistically....that and on more than one occasion Denver has given up late scores in blowouts. So the PPG on defense are probably a touch lower than the stats say. That doesn't even include points given up because of Offensive turnovers and special teams, of which there are a few.

I find this sort of take completely idiotic, we have 2 championships in 54 years...are we really supposed to only enjoy 2 seasons out of every 50?

For this team ,right now, anything less than a super bowl victory is a failure. You enjoy the stats all you want, but for the majority of us it doesnt mean much anymore, because for 3 years now we've dominated during season only to suffer debilitating losses in January. And next spring/summer no ones going be talking about our 2nd place offense, it'll be did we or did we not live up to our potential in January.
So you think what ever you want to think, but reality is; Super Bowl or Bust

so I suppose you'll be leaving here until February right? Nothing to discuss before the superbowl....you aren't going to watch I assume, since none of this matters. If we don't win the Superbowl, I expect you'll leave for good? I mean what is the point if you don't win it all.

Life is the journey, not the destination. That is reality.

You guys are trying to crown a team for having the #2 offense. It's not even thread worthy at this point. WE got it.

This is not even worth arguing, bc you know what I mean. These things are nice, but they shouldnt be celebrated at this point.

This
Seasons i Loved without winning a Super Bowl

2005 Broncos (Champs Int was great)
2003 Broncos (I love that week we went into Indi and beat them with Plummer to get that playoff berth,so what the Colts blew us out in the playoffs lol)
1996 Broncos (Elway and TD with those throwbacks running the NFL was prefect)

I have more but **** it i'm not writing all that ****.

PS. Last Year was great
