In the RING of FAME baby this Sunday!!

What are your favorite memories? Mine has to be the whole Falcons game in our 2nd SB win. Just a straight up dominating game by Rod.

Glad to hear it, he deserves it. One of my all time favorites.

In the future, if we get screwed by the refs like we did Monday, maybe we can send him out there to clock one of them.

Seriously though, his first NFL catch, the hail mary touchdown from Elway to beat the Skins. Portents of things to come.

Favorite was his Super Bowl catch.

One I remember live was his first catch vs Redskins to catch another 4th quarter comeback. 40 yard bomb? I believe so. Had no idea he would become a great receiver after that.

Either his first career catch, or the SB touchdown over the Falcons. Both were electric and career-defining.

Congrats Rod... proud to be a fan of yours.

His first catch in the NFL. The game winner against the deadskins in 1995.

The Lynn Swan-esque catch against the chefs cira 1996 or 1997.

Aside from the obvious 1st career catch in 95 and TD catch in Super Bowl XXXIII, here are some of my other favorites:

* TD catch against Miami in 98 AFC Divisional
* 80 yards RUSHING @ Seattle in 2000
* Ridiculous game he and Eddie Mac had at home against San Diego in 2000 - 335 combined receiving yards
* Chasing down Peppers on fumble recovery in 2003
* Every time we played the Pats
* Every time we played KC
* Punt return TD against San Diego in 2004

Any word on what the festivities will be. I was there when Mr. Sharpe went in a couple of years ago (2009 home opener against the Browns I think), and they were passing out Sharpe's head on a stick and had some other things As well. I'll be At the game Sunday so I was hoping someone had some details. Couldn't find any info on Broncos.com or the DP as of yet.

Honestly, the play that I think really defines him is that Peppers tackle.
We had 4th and goal on the 1 I believe, Plummer throws it up and Peppers intercepts it in the end zone, and takes off, everybody else on offense gives up on him except Rod who sprints after Peppers who's chugging along, and finally he chases him down to make the tackle, and didn't Peppers fumble the ball and we ended back with the ball? I remember that thinking "Wow, now thats a freakin player right there." Never gave up, always determined to make the play.

nahh..replay reversed it and gave the Panthers 1st and goal. The Panthers then scored on the next play.

I got him to sign mine. I framed it and hung it in my family "Broncos" room.

...but that's my all time favorite memory of rod smith. I remember being at that game and lmao and cheering the whole time they reviewed that play. Imo, it was a his defining moment as an NFL player. He deserves to be in the HOF.
