I don't see taking away a goal "making up for" a missed call, they're not quite on the same level of impact on the game.

Would really be something if the Wings could pull this off. I still say Hawks in seven though.

Fair result. That boarding call was blatant and led directly to a goal. If the Hawks have to rely on whining about the refs, they probably ain't as good as advertised. Face it, Howard's outplaying Crawford and the Wings are every bit the skaters that the Hawks are. The hawks, however, are turning into goons, which speaks to their inability to deal with this unexpected adversity like pros.

Wings are playing with house money and are ahead of schedule in their development, while the hawks are making marginal plays, psyching themselves out, and not getting great goalie play. The refs are nothing more than an excuse...again.

That missed boarding call resulted in a Blackhawk goal.

Doesn't really matter to me....I hope the refs screw over the Blackhawks the rest of the series.

They can keep whining about the refs instead of looking in the mirror and realizing they have been outplayed thus far in the series.

I expect the Blackhawks to come out and play some good hockey the rest of the series, so the Red Wings will have to be ready for their best shot in Game 4.

I think I've seen more of this this year (against almost every team) than I have in the last few years.

yes and no...For the most part Chicago dominated game 3, but when the blackcocks were not whining about the zebras, Jimmy Howard was keeping the Wings in the game.

After all those years of Holmstrom being jerked over for interference, costing him TONS of goals, I don't feel bad for the Hawks. Nice to see someone else have to deal with it for a change. The hard part was listening to that fool Olczyk and then Roenick--both partisan blackhacks...

Oh, and Patrick Roy will be the new head coach of the Avalanche. As a Wings fan, I am very happy with this hire. He's an over-emotional douchebag that will cost his team games because of his bravado and inability to harness his temper. Good luck, Avs. You still need players, though.

Hall of Fame goalie Patrick Roy is reportedly on the verge of being the next head coach of the Colorado Avalanche.

A report posted on the Denver Post's website Monday night says Roy's younger brother, Stephane Roy, leaked the impending announcement.

Avalanche should have went with Tippett or someone with NHL coaching experience.

Ruff is a dinosaur.....get someone new. He is Tom Renney like. You'll fall asleep watching his team play.

Tippett would be a really solid option, he worked magic with some of the kids in Phoenix.

I'm hoping we can get Tippett after the season ends.

He's been stellar in the QMJHL, but the NHL is basically two steps up. We'll see.

Still would have preferred Gwoz, but I can live with Roy.

Outplayed? Have you watched the games? The only reason this series isn't 3-0 is Jimmy Howard. Chicago outplayed Detroit the first two periods of game two and the first period last night.

I do agree that Howard has played better the past 2 games. Chicago hasn't faced any adversity all year. We'll see how they respond in game 4.

Chicago didn't outplay Detroit in any period of game 2 - but they did outplay Detroit in both the 1st and 3rd periods last night. Howard is doing what he has been doing since getting that extension, keeping the team in the game long enough to give the forwards a chance to win it.

The biggest thing that has changed for Howard is his rebound control, rebounds used to fly of him in all directions and some times it would be okay and some times it would lead to easy 2nd chance goals. This year his rebound control has been stellar, he rarely gives up rebounds in the slot, usually he kicks it to the corner or if it does come off him it dies and he can smother it on the ice.
