Default Romney Throws a Party!

You're not invited. It was strictly for his fellow Cayman Islands tax dodgers.

Gov. Mitt Romney’s campaign toasted its top donors Wednesday aboard a 150-foot yacht flying the flag of the Cayman Islands…. The event, attended by no more than 50 people, along with Romney relatives, including older brother Scott, appeared on no public calendars…. The Cracker Bay is owned by Gary Morse, developer of the Villages retirement community. Companies controlled by Morse gave nearly $1 million to the pro-Romney Restore Our Future superPAC. Registered in the Caymans, the Cracker Bay has an impressive art collection and can seat 30 for dinner.

The party planners said "let's get together at The Cracker to figure out how we're going to get crackers to vote for us."

Yeah - politicians never routinely invite their biggest supporters during crucial fundraising times. Shame on this SOB. Every time I've donated to the GOP I get solicitation mailings from them and similar groups. It's all a conspiracy I tell you!

I find this a lot classier than the usual "Dinner with Barack" contests. I mean WTF? Cult of personality.

As opposed to pandering to blacks, Hispanics, Muslims, Jews, gays, and other groups as voting blocs?

If you're implying by your post that the GOP is doing something wrong in this alleged pandering to the white voting bloc (I've never heard of such a thing, actually), then at least be consistent enough to condemn the Democrats for their open-air group pandering circus. It's especially striking considering 2008's endless pronunciations from Obama about "post-racial" America; the first thing he does is pander to individual - and I'll add competing - racial interest group blocs, instead of promoting a common message and refusing to cater to Balkanized groupings.

Apparently being post-racial means pandering to identity groups. Go figure.

Of course, the post-racial thing was just a crappy line to get gullible whites to vote for him; an indirect way of saying, "Yeah, we Democrats are always appealing to identity voting blocs, but we've changed our philosophy this time!"

Nuh huh.

You missed the point. Again. (why am I not surprised?)

It was the Cayman Islands flag flying off the stern of the ship.

Mitt exhibits the same political adroitness that made Marie Antoinette famous.

The Dems' convention: Reflected contemporary America in all its diversity.

The GOP convention: Looked like a Klan or Aryan Brotherhood rally.

Sorry your party's base has been reduced to sister diddlers, snake handlers and a handful of rich white guys.

Wrong on both counts, but let's not mix facts with sweeping generalizations that are as accurate as they are original.

I'd hate to tell you this, but much of the country is not a reflection of Los Angeles, and it is not evil for political representation from those parts of the country to not look like Los Angeles. You don't see people from those parts of the country whining about the hue of the Los Angeles political establishment. Some people wear big kid pants, and some don't.

I find it amusing that a "post-racial" political party is endlessly racial bean counting and making racial taunts.

The anti-majority, anti-white male hostility you and yours ooze is hilarious. It reminds me of a book I once read by an ex-Marxist like myself. Hating Whitey and Other Progressive Causes.

It's amusing how the same crowd screech like banshees about generalized comments about groups of people do the very same the minute someone shows up whose politics they dislike. "Those people!"

You can always count on the staunch trough-drinking liberals invoking the anti-white, anti-Christian class envy slurs. It's all part of the Democrats' playbook whose pages are opened and recited every election like a Bible, and these clowns mistake it for an accurate reflection of reality.

Riiiiiight - because Los Angeles is the only place in America where diversity exists.

You obviously don't understand the difference between "generalized comments" about a group of people vs. a simple demographic observation.

Sorry if the facts, viz., the attendees at the RNC were almost all white, are somehow inconvenient for you.

It's the same thing, and you're acting as if non-white faces weren't there. Further, you were off-hand beancounting the numbers of non-white faces and blaming your desire for more of them on Republicans without bothering to take any other possible causes into consideration, such as intergroup cultural pressure.

Then again, as I said, this is one of the usual unqualified Democrat belches we hear every single election cycle without fail.

Do some demographic studies. I've been to LA. If you think this country in general remotely resembles that place, you're out of your mind. Do some reading on demographics before you climb up on your high (baby) chair.

Didn't say that.

There were so few of them that they barely registered, whereas the DNC was a more accurate reflection of America as it exists in 2012.

When you say "this country" you're obviously referring the the backwater you inhabit, i.e., Marlboro Country.

In any event, it sounds like "that place" must have scared the crap out of you.

I'll bet you couldn't wait to get back to Stepford!

If I inhabit a backwater, then you inhabit a ghetto. The insults can go both ways. You can't throw racial slurs and insinuations around like that while trying to wrap yourself in the mantle of anti-racism. Why must this be explained to you?

Well, I did have a gangster at the old Paramount Drive-In make a pass at me, to which I ignored, and he responded by hurling a stream of knifing threats and racial epithets.

I guess that's what I get for ignoring his advances? I should have taken kindly to the gang signals and bandanas.

And frankly, if you care to study LA crime data, anybody with half a brain would be leery of it. Why deny it?

And as I said, the rote premise on this subject from you and yours is that this is necessarily the fault of the Republicans without bothering to investigate other issues.

Interesting that you would construe a description of a place, i.e., "backwater," as a "racial slur."

Good to see DramaLlama hasn't lost his(her?) logical edge.

Let me get this straight:

You can count the number of non-whites at the RNC on one hand, and this is not the GOP's fault?

L0L!

I know republicans live in a perpetual state of denial, but that's some pathological stuff right there!

Go ahead, then tell us what it was. You b**** about racial demographics, refer to areas that are known to be heavily white, and refer to them as a "backwater" and then deny you meant anything racial.

Is this your way of applying for MENSA?

As I stated, Democrats like to racial beancount (while saying they're post-racial and universalist) and then blame any discrepancies they see on one cause only without consideration of other possible factors, such as I said, cultural and political in terms of pandering to hostilities, not to mention offers of free goodies.

I don't doubt in the least this "oversight" is no accident.

You outed yourself as a provincial-minded yokel when you assumed I would interpret your use of the word "ghetto" as a statement about race.

You interpret "backwater" in the same way for the exact same reason.

Watching you trip over yourself to assign blame for your convention's lack of diversity to anything or anyone but your party is hysterical!

Why not just acknowledge and embrace your party's true identity, viz., a predominantly white, good ol' boys' club that reflects the America of the 1950s vs. the America of the 21st century?

Making racial generalizations while denying do so while assigning blame in one direction without bothering to consider other causes.

As I said.
