Notre Dame expands their brand even further with going into the ACC rather than recruitng players out of the BIG10 which they already do

B1G has their own network and wouldn't allow them to keep the NBC deal. B1G schools made an extra 20 mil or so last year from the B1G network, the Pac-12 will make about 15-18 from theirs. ND makes a lot of money from NBC but the ACC and Big East are the only conferences that would allow them to stay independent. even the ACC is forcing them to play 5 ACC games a season, so that means the ACC gets the ND brand name to sell for 5 games. the B1G was holding out for ND or Texas to expand and passed on Mizzou,Rutgers and others. but they refused to let either keep their own TV deals or networks as it would set the wrong example for the other members of the conference. |
