Default 49ers at Broncos - Who are you watching for today?

With today's game being nationally televised, who are you wanting to have a break out performance?

Me personally, I have my eyes mostly on the OL to see how they handle the 49ers pass rush.

I also want PM to get the monkey off his back and throw a TD.

This is pretty easy, two things.

1. Protect Manning, as usual. So far this offensive line has given Manning the time he needed. If they continue that against the niners, I will feel a whole lot better about our tough schedule.
2. We need one of our top 3 receivers (Decker, Tamme, DT) to catch a damn touchdown. Not just catch the ball, not just a first down catch. We need to pass our way into the end zone if this whole Manning led team is going to take us to the promised land.

I know who I don't want to see and that's Hillman. Leave that guy out until his hammy is truly healed, it's not like he's going to be cut. Other than that I couldn't agree more that a passing TD from PM is in order and I'm super anxious about the run defense.

As per the norm, I'm interested to see if Bebe can show effort in all of his routes and be this freakish superstar he's deemed to have the potential of being. I'm also interested to see if Jim Leonhard plays at safety. He was a fan favorite on the Jets for his hard hitting style. Apparently he could be on punt returns as well.

How our offense does against a good defense. How our defense does against the Niners rushing offense. Hopefully no injuries despite Bacchus basically cursing the team yesterday.

If we have a serious injury I am going to punch him in the vagina.

Niners have a great defense so as others have said, I want to see how the oline performs openining holes and protecting the QB. Red zone production is key too, I have little doubt the Broncos can move the ball with Manning but I'd like to see them punch it in for a TD either with a quick strike pass or running the ball.

As for the defense, just stay healthy, especially the dline. Then I want to see how Irving does, hopefully he will get in with the first team defense on some snaps.

Watching knoShow in his last game as a Denver Bronco. The farther we we get from Mcnightmare is a good thing.

I think Manning, and the offense, has to be the focus. Yeah, most of the INTs have been bad luck, just a little off timing-wise, etc, but that doesn't matter when we're getting down to brass tacks and real games. This is the dress rehearsal and the mistakes need to be cleaned up whether they can be called bad luck or not. "It's just a timing thing" can't be an excuse any more.

I want to see the Broncos take care of the ball on offense and be effective against a very strong defense. The time for "it was better than it looked" is over. The offense needs to be on the same page, move the ball, and put points on the board.

Other than that I'll be watching young guys. I'm hoping Trevathan and Irving see a lot of action, and continue to look impressive. I hope Hillman is healthy enough to see the field and doesn't suffer any setbacks. I'd love to see some proof that Lance Ball is not going to be heavily relied upon.

I'll be interested to see who gets the reps at QB in the second half. If Osweiler takes the majority, it will be a pretty clear sign that he's locked down the backup role, and may mean we carry just 2 QBs, with Weber to the PS. I would like to see that roster spot be used to keep a player with some upside instead of holding onto Hanie who has no future here. That can only be done if the staff is convinced that Brock can handle spot duty in the event Manning misses time without disturbing his development.

Ayers, I just have a gut feeling that he is going to explode this year. I never really cared for him either. Kinda strange.

I wanna see manning finally score a TD. I also will be paying attention to him throwing right, see if all the hub hub is true or just BS. I kinda think it's BS

I can't wait to see our O-line against there D-Line. They are beasts and if our line can stuff them today then we are good this season.

Kinda wanna see Hillman Kinda don't.

Looking forward to watching Methwolf and Warren plug up the line with Gore running.

I think the 49's are superbowl contenders this year. I know this is preseason but I think this game will show us what our team is made of.
