I've been telling people that the Raiders are going to be historically bad this year. They let Pryor scramble around and duck and chuck, they might win a game or two. We're talking make last year's Chefs team look like the 89 49ers bad.

I just want to know how raider fans will get those paper bags over their Darth Vader and Gorilla masks.

Chiefs fans managed to get them on over their mullets, so it can be done.

before last night telecast...I missed this

John Gruden....

“I’m tired of hearing that, Mike. The Raiders have a shot tonight. They gotta run the football and that’s what they do best. Give it to McFadden and run it all night. The second thing they have to do is generate some turnovers from their defense. They must steal possessions from Manning. And the third thing is use the element of surprise. Use an onside kick, fake a field goal, do something to create points. But I’m tired of hearing about it. I was here in 1998 as the head coach of the Raiders, we had a young quarterback named Donald Hollas going up against Elway and I gave our team several reasons why we should win this game.”

“What happened?”

“We lost 40-14.“

We didn't have a ton of sacks when he stayed in the pocket. If Flynn starts, I don't think he will do bad at all. Average most likely because Raiders just don't have too many weapons to throw to.

BTW, didnt Raider Bill tell us about that great TE Raiders had last season and how Palmer would be hitting him all day long? Top 10 offense....

Due to baseball playoffs, Raiders Oct. 6 home game vs. Chargers has been switched 4:25 pm ET to 11:35 pm ET. Late night.

If this were the Denver game, I'd be pissed....

Some people have to work in the morning!

Well West Coast time, it's 8:35PM so it will probably finish around 11:30PM. It's stupid but from a fan's point of view, I don't think it's that bad, unless you're going to the game. Of course, who wants to be out and about in Oakland at midnight?

For the players, I think it sucks to have to finish a game around midnight.

One game in Flynn gets sacked 7 times. Pryor at least scrambles away from some of those sacks. Pocket passer behind that line? No thanks

This is good. Now the broncos most likely play on CBS in that time slot instead of raiders home game out here.

As they are a real football franchise, the Broncos have their own stadium, and therefore this will never be an issue.

Edit: Doh, guess it could happen if they were playing in Oakland. I've had a long day.

For the Raiders, who traded away a fifth-round pick for Flynn, this is an embarrassment that is compounded by the embarrassment of spending a fourth-round draft pick on quarterback Tyler Wilson and then cutting him before the start of the regular season.

im Trotter on twitter.

Raiders released QB Matt Flynn.

It's a stunning admission of defeat from out-of-his-depth GM Reggie McKenzie, but hardly surprising considering coach Dennis Allen's barely-concealed disdain for his would-be starting quarterback. Flynn had tumbled behind Matt McGloin a painful to watch quarterback in college on the depth chart, and was embarrassingly inept in his Week 4 spot start against the Redskins.

The fact that he's bringing home a guaranteed $6.5 million this season is one of the most embarrassing GM gaffes in recent memory. Between his money wasted in Flynn and fourth-round misfire on Tyler Wilson, McKenzie has proven he has no idea what he's doing with quarterbacks. Barely a No. 2 level talent, it's possible Flynn will latch back on with the Packers, who lack a viable backup behind Aaron Rodgers.

I wonder if the Raiders would consider paying 6 million dollars to cut me. I would even do it for 3.

I want Matt Flynn's life. How much guaranteed money has that guy made off of one meaningless game as a Packer? 20 mill, 25 mill?
