Thinking that Pryor, a supplemental draft pick would develop into a starting QB was another reach.

Raiders lack of decent level drafts are the reason they are going to be fighting the Jag's for the 1st overall pick next year.
I really don't think the GM is doing Allen any favors either. How can anyone really know if Allen is a bad HC if he's got next to zero talent to work with? I guess we can say "well, he should still get more wins because if he was a good coach he'd make them better than they really are, that is, coach them up...." Perhaps, but it's hard to know if Allen is the problem or the talent is the problem or both.

I know I don't like what Allen did with Palmer. I think trying to turn Palmer into a dink and dunk QB was absolutely the dumbest thing to do. Palmer is a long ball QB and his strength is stretching the field. All the faiders really had to do is make sure Palmer got decent protection.

Meh, it's a crap organization that continues to make crap decisions.

Raiders LT Jared Veldheer has been diagnosed with a torn triceps, and will undergo surgery.
It's a staggering blow for the league's worst team. Veldheer is almost certainly done for the season, but per beat writer Vittorio Tafur, the Raiders are "holding out hope" he can return at some point. He's a candidate for injured reserve/designated to return. Losing Veldheer is devastating enough, but the fact that he's apparently being replaced by human false start Alex Barron elevates the situation to true disaster. The Raiders might not win a game this season.

Not to pile on, but the Raiders are also the least valuable NFL franchise according to Forbes (even behind the likes of the Browns, Bills, and Jags).

If you list it by revenue generated, Denver is in the top five, it would appear.

That sucks for the Raiders, Veldheer is their best offense lineman and a left tackle with considerable upside.

Raiders are running a special of 250 bucks for season tickets. Yep just 250 and you can get season tickets. And there's plenty available. They keep running a commercial on Bay Area radio about how great it is to be a season ticket holder.

250 dollar season tickets and ownership who wants to build the smallest stadium in NFL history.

And it only took to the first preseason game for a TV blackout.

Hilarious.

Are the Raiders even an NFL team at this point?
They cant sell out games; their roster outside of their secondary is depleted of any proven reliable NFL caliber starters

I know their attendance figures are pretty rubbish, but pre-season games aren't a great indicator of anything. Can't fault them for offering relatively cheap season tickets. They don't really have much choice.

Wouldn't that be redundant? Most of them already live in Oakland.

no, just gets Bay area residents to watch a real football team. If this was the case all around the nation, you would have a point. The scum of Oakland and their fans brought this on themselves. They wanted the tough looking crowd and they got it...all 40,000 of them to enjoy the game while it is blacked out and showing the Broncos or Chargers game at the same time.

Which team has the most loyal fans?

32. Oakland Raiders

Wow. Dead last for Oakland. That's got to be dispiriting for those loons who dress up in bondage gear, but maybe that's where all their disposable income is going. Falcons fans are as flighty as spooked pigeons; they'll watch replays of 2005 University of Georgia games before live action. Most people in Arizona are unaware that they even have a team. Tampa Bay is Florida/Florida State/Miami territory. And Detroit ... considering the fact that there may indeed be actual lions wandering the streets of that city, folks there have bigger things to worry about than the local football concern.

I am not a fan of the criteria they used. I think the Packers, for example, should be in the top three at least, if not number one. The Cowboys at number 1 is a joke. They are a very fair weather crowd. They're definition of "loyalty" isn't one I agree with.

They ignored things like season ticket wait lists, which usually features a pretty good gauge of support. This packers fan waited 37 years for his name to be called for tickets. The Steelers and Redskins have incredibly loyal fans with multiple decade long wait lists for season tickets and they regularly turn out in force even in years where they are a .500 team, or in the Skins' case most of the time, even worse. Neither is in the top five.

So I don't buy this list at all.

The dude who filled in for him was owned all night. Flynn needs to be coached up. Dude hangs on to the ball too long. Allen is going to have to get him plays to get the ball out quicker but not having a starting caliber LT is going to make the reclamation project all the longer.

The upside is they will pick 1st in the draft.
