Default Breakdown of Indy's Offense

I saw this link on IAOFM and it gives a great break down of the plays Manning ran while at Indy.

http://smartfootball.com/offense/pey...-colts-offense

It is amazing how quick Manning he can get rid of the ball and fit it in tight spaces. I appreciate what Tebow did last year, but it's nice having a qb who can actually throw the ball. Excited to see how the broncos staff will blend Indy's pass offense with Fox's run concepts.

That's an awesome article, very intelligent! Thanks for posting it. It brings up some incredibly valid concerns for how good we are actually going to be just because we added such an immense head.

I love the simplicity. I got so sick of all the "read defenses" talk last year, like there was some magic trick. My favorite offenses are the ones that are flexible PRE-SNAP, and you look at where the defenders are, and think "You're not going to be able to stop what I'm about to put us in." And you look for the quick decision after the snap and execute it.

The idea of backing up and surveying what you see is overrated. Keep it simple, look at the defense they are in, and put the ball where it needs to go.

It's a different article, but relevant to point out that the Broncos will still keep some of their plays that weren't run in Indy.

I figured someone might have posted the link, but didn't see anything pop up immediately when I did the search function.

It will be interesting to see how the broncos skill positions fit with what Manning had in Indy. It appears good route running and timing are very critical. Decker should do well, but I am worried that Thomas may struggle this year. Caldwell and Hillman should excel as well as the tight ends. I would expect the broncos to use a lot of double tight ends with a single running back.

I read through that thread and while there are parallel topics, this article is much more specific. I like the fact that this thread is focused on that article rather than the article being an element of the discussion.

Hopefully we see some passes on 1st down. Most predicable offense i've ever seen last year...
