I know a lot of people want to see Penn State lose every game because of everything that happened there, but I'm glad to see the kids that stuck around there having some success this season.

Those kids playing right now and the coaching staff coaching them didn't have a damn thing to do with any of that stuff.

I dont understand how you can hand down such a heavy-handed punishment that's outside of NCAA procedure AND hold an entire establishment accountable for the actions of one person, nor do I think this impacts child molestation in anyway, shape or form but that's an entirely different discussion.

The challenge is with guidelines set up in the Colorado University system. They have huge limitations on how much an assistant can get paid. Its ridiculous compared to most the rest of the nation.

true but a lot of states have challenges Arizona is another one since both universities have to have their budgets ok'd by a 3rd party.
but you can get around obstacles if you want to. lose enough and it will force you to.

I think the new powers that be in Penn State wanted to get out from under Paterno's shadow and so they wanted this to happen so they could go forward without Paterno hanging over their head.

I don't disagree. They certainly decided to point the finger right at him... only waiting until he was dead so he couldn't refute it first.

Regardless, incurring a decades worth of sanctions to move forward is pretty heavy.

they had two choices. sanctions or death penalty.
obviously they chose the lesser of two evils because PSU is a football school and if they goes away there is too much $$$ lost to recover properly.

Not really. There was a huge question whether the NCAA could hand down such sanctions. Rev addressed this. They could have fought it and won. As a matter of fact, if Penn State hadn't stuck their hand in the air and said, "punish us, please!", then the NCAA wouldn't have dared going as far as it did. But it did so knowing there wouldnt be resistence.

Toledo beat Buffalo 25-20 in a game that shouldn't have been that close.

This game was sandwiched in between a huge game versus Cincinnati and key games versus Ball State and then Northern Illinois.

Toledo is 8-1 on the season and have a good chance of sneaking into the Top 25 in the next polls.

Toledo has a junior RB named David Fluellen, who will be playing on Sundays.

Nice blend of size, speed, natural running instincts, vision, and cutback ability....6'0 and 215 pounds.

Fluellen toted the rock 35 times today for 228 yards and 2 TDs.

196 carries for 1,181 yards (6.02 ypc) and 11 TDs on the season.
