Default Solar: Fake Energy Provided by Fake President

Solar: Fake Energy Provided by Fake President

This is the year that the fake energy provided by our fake president finally collide and go boom.

So, get ready for a new round of green bankruptcies, as Europe trims back subsidies for solar companies and taxpayers lose their appetite for subsidizing green power.

“The mini-bubble resulting from the rush to cash in on solar subsidies in European and U.S. markets is ending, as feed-in tariffs drop in Europe while loan guarantee and tax credit programs tighten up in the U.S.,” says a new report from Bank of America Merrill Lynch according to CNBC.com.

Germany is dialing back subsidies for solar this month by 29 percent with subsequent decreases each month, according to Bloomberg.com.

Rasmussen has recently released a survey of voters that show a diminishing number of voters support subsidizing the production of the Chevy Volt.

Only 29 percent of likely voters agree with Obama’s latest proposal to include a $10,000 subsidy in the federal budget to support the purchase of every electric vehicle.

The survey found that 58 percent oppose the plan,
while 13 percent remain undecided.

And make no mistake, without subsidies solar, electric vehicles, wind power and other alternatives remain a chimera.

“Steven Cortes, CNBC contributor and founder of Veracruz Research, also sees solar stocks declining further and wonders about the impact of the recent natural gas boom on the sector.

“’As much as I love sun, I hate the solar space. This is not a real business, it’s a political construct,’” Cortes said on Fast Money Wednesday. “’And they can’t compete with natural gas at these levels.’”

According to the Associated Press the U.S. now has 2.433 trillion cubic feet in storage.

The only thing green about this initiative was the color of the money that went Obama's donors. Sham-wow!

If you really believe the earth is warming because of humans burning fuel wouldn't you want your govt to subsidize and make solar work?

I think it would be better to have a team of scientist come up with how good solar panel would have to work for it to really make sense. Then offer like 1 billion in prize money to who comes up with it.

I don't like how govt does it through subsidies. I like cash awards better. Invent something that pushes America further into the future, get a big cash award etc etc.

You what is scary is the reality if the media wanted to they could destroy Obama. All they have to do is hammer on him, there is plenty out there.

But then you stop and think wow they really do have that much power. Right now i bet they are pouring over Mitt Romneys tax returns closer then even the IRS does lol. You think an IRS audit is tough, they follow the law. The media tax audit is far worst.

The media would not need to hammer on him, they would only need to do a mediocre job by sharing 1/2 of the real stories about him...but that wont either.

they still run the stories but really you have to run them over and over for Americans to pay attention. Just my opinion though.

Rev Wright would be one example of what you are saying. I would contend that conservatives should not give up on the African American or the Latino vote -- these two groups are more conservative on social issues than the democrats acknowlege. No, we are not going to get big numbers -- but, no vote should be thrown out or assumed just because of a demographic.

There are lots of advancements in solar that are amazing...but haven't made it to market yet.

BUT here are some things to consider:

The rare earth metals market is being constrained heavily right now. The moment we leave AFG, we are going to lose influence & the mine will probably be contracted out to a chinese firm after we leave (or heavily invested in by the chinese).

This would give them an 80% or > of market share in this market. This market then creates pricing for things like solar panels, etc.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-0...rt-supply.html

Then you have china manipulating market conditions not only with a monopoly...but with currency. They deflate/subsidize the cost of business to WIN business then jack the prices up when they dominate the market.

How do we innovate & replace or find better ways to make product that doesn't rely on this market domination?
