Trying to figure a way that the top 6 picks in the draft can't be carved in stone:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/201...tml?xid=cnnbin

This was an interesting note:

This from the mind of the great Gil Brandt:
Amazing the bust factor at linebacker in the last 10 years. Brandt tipped me onto this, and he's absolutely right: Look at the top 10 picks in the draft from 2001 to 2010. Six have been linebackers (if you count Terrell Suggs as a defensive end). The six are A.J. Hawk, Ernie Sims, Keith Rivers, Jerod Mayo, Aaron Curry and Rolando McClain. One of the six has made a Pro Bowl -- Mayo -- and he's made just one. Rivers was traded to the Giants for a pittance of a fifth-round pick on Friday. Curry was dealt from Seattle to the Raiders for a seventh-rounder last year. The Eagles gave up a fifth-round pick for Sims in 2010; he's an unsigned free agent now. Hawk and McClain have been pedestrian at best in Green Bay and Oakland, respectively.
One Pro Bowl linebacker picked in a decade in the top 10 of the draft. Contrast that to defensive linemen: Twenty-six were picked in the top 10 of the draft from 2001 to 2010 -- obviously counting Suggs as a defensive end -- and those 26 have made 29 Pro Bowls.

Anyway, it looks like the top six are going to be:

1. Luck
2. Griffin
3. Kalil (Nobody is going to trade up, Vikes. Nobody.)
4. Richardson (Sure, they talk like it could be Blackmon, but it won't be. And no matter how much Fisher loves Richardson, the Rams are not trading up to #4. Why? Because Holmgren knows that Blackmon won't be there at 6 if he trades anyway. It's a sticky wicket.)
5. This is the one place where it gets iffy. The Buccaneers signed Eric Wright and re-signed Ronde Barber. Does that mean they pass on Claiborne? I don't think so. They also signed VJ, so that leaves out Blackmon, IMO. They'd be going after the same balls. The wild card here could be Kuechly, but I just can't imagine they pass on Claiborne.
6. That leaves the Rams with Blackmon, and the rest of the draft... who knows?

King is right, though. Jags got screwed on this one.

Jags won't be too screwed, they can deal back for a boatload of picks to a team who wants a QB. unfortunately that's Cleveland if Tannehill falls.
even if you don't trade down you still have a choice of Ingram(who is going to be a beast),Reiff,DeCastro,Cox,Floyd,Coples or Kuechly. not exactly a bad choice of players

But if some crazy **** happened and the Rams did get their hands on Trent Richardson and they cut Steven Jackson, how many would want the Broncos to get on the phone with Jackson's agent and check out the price?

I guess I don't buy the Tannehill hype. If some team does, 7 would be the place to jump in (ahead of Miami), but if that doesn't happen, the Jags are in an awkward spot. Their biggest needs are at CB and WR, and the top two will be gone. Maybe they take Tannehill? After all, Gabbert is a chicken ****. Their next greatest need is probably DE. Coples is probably a bust. Ingram and Upshaw are 3-4 guys. Sticky spot for them.
