Ugh... I guess I can feel goo about a few of my losses considering one was Scott who went for $40,000 and Law and Keller both went real high... Glad I got the two Wrs, but really thought I'd get Law...

I loled when Cunningham went for $60k. But he should have been drafted, so I guess it's not that funny? I don't know what to think about that.

Yeah, I was bummed to get trumped on Cordarro Law as well -- not sure why he's being overlooked leading up to the draft, but the kid could definitely make a roster in a 3-4 defense.

Yup, this was pretty wild:

Travian Robertson, DT, South Carolina
$10,000 Mediator12, Indianapolis (5th to submit bids)

$10,000 phibacka31, New York Jets (6th to submit bids)
$10,000 brncs_fan, San Diego Chargers (14th to submit bids)

Well, I got about half of mine. Guess this should teach me for being greedy and going after too many players...

next year's strategy: Fewer players, more money.

This.

But there's no way in hell I'm spending more than $25,000 on any one player unless there are 4 or fewer players I want.

Can somebody open a thread in this section of the forum where everybody can post and discuss their complete drafts? Would be nice to look at next year, or after this weekend.

***Minor Correction***

I missed GoHAM's bids in my original post -- they've now been added.

god dammit, i thought i could land Demps with 30,000 because of his wanting to go to the olympics rather than NFL.

When I sent my bid to Bowlen on Demps, my thought pattern was the same... Figuring the olympics will be over before the end of camp, and playing the positions he does he would be able to join a team for this year. His skill set is simular to Percey Harvin, So I figured why not add him to the same roster. You can not teach speed like his, plus the QB needs all the help he can get.

Why not spend the money when he is the only target I had. $60k is chump change in the NFL... Money well spent in my eyes.

i figured most likely anyone else with the same thought pattern as us would lowball the number for him thinking no one will want to invest a lot of the coin on a guy who has already said no to the NFL but could potentially change his mind by august.

i thought for sure 30,000 would get it done, especially when that was the highest big i threw down for any of the guys i went after.

Or just go after small school kids no one else has heard of like I did lol

The Demps thing is... just... confusing the **** out of me.

He didn't declare for the draft. He doesn't have an agent. He has no rights to obtain. He'll be in the Olympics... maybe AFTER he decides to play ball and hires an agent and goes to a team but...

But.... He is a way better player than any of your small school "Wonders" IF he goes pro, he will be one that makes a squad and not cut before any of the preseason games are played. Low risk, huge return.

I watched him play football for 3 years, the kid is a special talent. I think he will miss it and try to make it, but in reality again, 60K is squat in NFL dollars.

See Joe May's contact extention for proof.

Yeah if we were grading UDFA classes, I'd have to give negative points to anyone who wasted money bidding on him. He's not going to play. He's more or less said he's not going to play: "I still love the game of football, that will never be taken from me" and "I can have the mindset of a full-time track guy now"...to me that sounds like someone who won't be playing football...this year at least. That money could have been spent on other FAs.

True, but we're also spending only $100,000. How much do most teams spend on UDFAs total? It's got to be well over $100k right?

...right... but you literally CAN'T do it. He's not eligible.

Being a special talent doesnt mean he's in any way available.

Can I rearrange my UDFA picks?

Since we're making up rules that don't exist, I'd like to bid 100k on the rights to Matt Barkley
