Default Manning

Listening to 102.3 the Ticket this afternoon I heard these Peyton Manning tidbits:

Manning asked for a copy of the Bronco media guide, memorizing facts about his future teammates. When Julius Thomas walked by him in the Bronco facility Manning went up to him and said "Julius, nice to meet you, I'm Peyton Manning." He then pulled Thomas aside and asked if Thomas wanted to work out with him each day. "Yes sir" Thomas replied, and Thomas did work out with Peyton daily until his recent surgery.

Zane Beadles was interviewed. He said 2 days after Peyton signed Manning texted him. "I'm looking forward to playing with you," Peyton texted. Beadles met Manning for the first time in person this week.

Manning asked for books about Bronco team history. Manning called Frank Tripucka personally about wearing #18 to make sure Frank was OK with it, calling him "Mr Tripucka". Had Tripucka declined Manning would have wore #14 or #16.

Manning is often the first in the Broncos practice facility each day and one of the last to leave. He frequently orders out for dinner and shares it with whoever happens to be at the facility with him. The Broncos are considering giving Peyton the security codes to enter and leave the facility since he often is the first one there, and the last one to leave.

Manning asked for the exact dates of the preseason games, and wants to work on the game plan now for each of those contests.

Jake Plummer. Les Shapiro said that Shanahan coached the AFC Pro Bowl team after the 2005 season where Manning was his QB. Shanahan and Manning played golf every day and Shanny was impressed that Peyton was only interested in talking football and offensive strategy for 4 1/2 hours each round. Shanny wished Plummer had the same dedication to the game, and that was a factor in him drafting Jay Cutler that off season.

I wonder if Peyton would go after a broncos fan who makes up a name or fad in his honor?

i heard that Manning called up Eric "Dropsy" Decker on his cellphone the day after he signed and told "Dropsy" that if he dropped as many of Manning's passes as he did Tebow's, Manning was personally going to rip off his head and **** down his neck.

you can trust that it's true. i heard it from a guy on the light rail.

Yeah, Eric had 22 catches in 5 games w/o Tebow....22 in 11 games with Tebow. I'm sure the QB's inability to throw well had nothing to do with it.....

And yet another thread devolves into people b****ing about Tebow. SHUT THE **** UP ALREADY!

It's not even worth defending Tebow to dolts like errand.
