Ok that's fine, but I still don't get what your point is. If they lose Charles they lose their number one receiver and the guy who's responsible for inflating Smith's QB rating.

Not worried
You'll be worried when the Chiefs go 5-11 and have no money to pay Houston or Smith.

I've got the second pick in my big fantasy league this year, and I'm hoping for Charles. With or without him, we're going to own the chiefs.

Plenty of ways to get those guys signed when the time comes.

@RapSheet: Barring a contract breakthru, #Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles will not report for training camp today. He believes he’s outplayed his current deal

The more I think about it, the more I wonder if the Chiefs will even have a better record than the Raiders. This is too many distractions for one team to handle...

So your two most important offensive players are unhappy with management, one of them holding out. Oh and your best defensive player is unhappy with his contract too. Good way to start the season.

Where did it say they are unhappy with management? Justin Houston has nobody but himself to blame for his current contract. He lost money when he fell to the 3rd rd due to his failed drug test at the combine.

I think they will use Flowers cap savings for Jamaal, Houston will get Tamba's $9 million in cap savings once he's gone next spring and Alex will get money from the raised cap and cap savings from players like Sean Smith (5th highest contract on team right now) being a cap casualty.

KC doesn't need brokebackcharles, they scored like 45 points without him.

It's going to funny when the Chiefs break the bank just to keep some of these guys and then next offseason they have no money for receivers again.

After the work load Reid put him under last year he knows he is close to being run into the ground and wants one last payday to make it worth all that punishment he took as the focal point of the O.

Not a bad move for him, he gets to rest his legs and recover a little longer while trying to get paid for all the fields he plowed Reid and Smith like a farmers single ox.

Plus if he holds out kFc can score 45 points without him...and still LOSE!

Smith says he don't need no Mr.Charles. He's one of the top QBs in the league.

Didn't you see the game. Alice led a team to 45 points. Don't mind the gifted points 45 is 45. That is 20 million per year guys.

@HerbieTeope

We're less than five minutes from when media session ends. Have not seen RB Jamaal Charles or OLB Justin Houston yet.

Wow, I thought Houston said he was going to attend. I think that is the hold out that will go on the longest. They can live without a one trick pony pass rusher but not the guy their entire O is built around.

I was joking, yes. Just getting a jump on the spin before KCStud had a chance.

Gimme some more credit than that.

I thought this guy was out of the NFL...

Elway could offer him a ham sandwich with pickles and he would leave the offer sitting on Andy's desk and run for the airport.

Jamaal Charles and the #Chiefs have struck a deal, source says. He’s heading to camp now.
