Only if the Broncos and Colts start 1st time starting backup QB's. Otherwise kFc has no chance even when spotted a 28 point lead well into the 3rd quarter.

AFC offseason grades. Broncos only team to score an A, chiefs only team to score an F. Oakland I think deserves a little higher than D+

Word here in KC is Charles isn't going to report to camp and is asking for more money

Chiefs without Charles are in a world of hurt

Raiders definitely deserve better. I think they had the 2nd best offseason in the division.

How much do you pay a RB 3 years from 30 who relies on speed?

Charles did sign that contract, so hard to feel too bad for him. On the Chiefs end, he's under contract for two more years. He's very valuable to their team, so I'd give a slight bump in salary if I were KC.

Like what?

2 years, 24 million and add the other 2 years on top of that and re-do it?

I don't think I'd go that high if I were them. But 3 years/$27 million seems fair

The Chiefs are not in a good position to give Charles more money considering their current cap situation. Though they have more than $10M in both this year and 2015, of course they have both Alex Smith and Justin Houston as pending 2015 free agents that would likely chew up all of that. They already had to cut Brandon Flowers to get that room to begin with. If they pay Charles then it becomes likely that at least one of the two will walk, and they may also have to hasten the departure of Tamba Hali (who I think definitely won't be a Chief after this season).

Charles is the one player whose presence has been holding Alex Smith back.

This is not good news.

Is this a joke? Are you saying if they don't have his 40% plus completions to running backs that Alex Smith will truly be unleashed?

In B4 KCdoosh says the Chiefs don't need Charles and they are better without him.

Actually Charles is right here. He has all the leverage.

Khan is right...Smith wouldn't be able to run an offense without the 5 yard throws to him in the flat. That's a huge chunk of their offense.

Is this a joke? It's obviously much more like 50% plus.

Jamaal is a great teammate and deserves a raise. They've been in talks and it should get done soon.
Not worried
