Guess you could argue they should have given him more of a chance to experience free agency, but don't think their reasons were really classless. Tried to trade him, but since most teams suspected KC was going to cut him anyways, and there wasn't an interest on Flowers part to take a pay cut, KC wasn't going to get anything.

Don't get me wrong; I think the Chiefs badly misused him. They picked system over talent, which I'm never a big fan of.
Flowers is like Dwayne Wade. He's slowing getting worse bc of injuries. He wasn't the same guy last year bc of that. He's still a good CB when he's healthy, but is that gonna happen? He's been fighting injuries the last 2 years, including that knee.

You guys barely beat the Raiders the one game. I think it was the first one.

Nah it wasn't that close. 24-7.

But what he's bringing up means zip all to what I said. It's not the same chiefs, nor is it the same raiders as who played in those games.

He's trying to deflect the fact one team improved, the other took a dump this offseason.

So who is the better team right now? Who wins if they play tomorrow?

Let's bet. I'll say raiders split with KC.

Loser leaves the OM forever.

I don't think his injuries would have mattered a whole lot. Reid prefers tall corners; he's obviously not that. He might have lost a step, but if he is healthy, San Diego got a good player. I think they definitely have at least the 2nd best CB's in the division. Might be the best if Talib can't stay healthy.

The Raiders actually have a competent GM. It will be interesting to see how that translates over the next few years.

I fully expect the Chiefs to take a big step back this season. They won't get that string of sequential back up QB's again. And the lucky breaks will go away (a guy muffing a punt just when they need him to with no pressure.) They have also always been on a cycle of one good year and then a couple years of mediocrity or complete suck. Observe:

1998 7-9
1999 9-7
2000 7-9
2001 6-10
2002 8-8
2003 13-3
2004 7-9
2005 10-6
2006 9-7
2007 4-12
2008 2-14
2009 4-12
2010 10-6
2011 7-9
2012 2-14
2013 11-5
2014 - Based on Reid's coaching chops, they're unlikely to take a huge dump. But with a tough schedule, the loss of talent and no answers at their biggest holes like receiver, I'd wager 7-9 or 8-8. I'd be more shocked if they did better than that than if they did worse.

Well it was 7 to 14 until 2 min left in the game when KC kicked a fg and Pryor s 3rd second half INT went for a pick 6.

Oak improved alot this offseason.

Hard to say with KC, relying on alot of young guys.

Added some vets in FA and had a good draft landing Mack plus others.

The Chiefs wont get to beat up on 3rd string QB's this year.. holy crap.. if there was ever a team that pulled a lucky card every sunday playing against a team missing its starting QB that week it was the Chiefs... Does anybody really give a damn about the Chiefs outside a 50 mile radius of KC? That team won 11 games and got 1 primetime mnf game.. every team gets a thursday night... hell the frekin raiders can win 4 games and get more prime time games then them

That team is just boring to watch... Seriously,

If Charles goes down early they could be picking another RT #1 over all again this year.

I could see them going 6-10 easy, 8-8 would take a lot of breaks. I just don't see the talent there to have a winning season in this division and with facing the NFC West.

If they play tomorrow, kFc wins against Oaklands backup QB (right now they don't have a clear #1) I could see at the end of the year vs Oaklands starter kFc getting beat down.

There is not a whole lot of difference between them, neither has quality depth the only thing that gives kFc the nod right now is Charles and Reid's ability to call a 5 yard drag route 15 (or more) times a game.

Raiders finally have a GM, they are making good moves- I hate they got Mack.. dudes gonna win DROY... They upgraded in some key positions. We will win the West again, but right now, dont be surprised to see the Raiders give the Chiefs and Chargers a run for their money. I could see Oakland being a very strong team in 2 years if they keep up what they are doing. Derek Carr is gonna be a very good QB, the Faid got a steal getting him in rd 2

Coming into this thread and typing:

The Chiefs Suck

Is almost carthartic isn't it?

How a once storied franchise could fall so far is a mystery to me, but here we are.. The Chiefs suck... and there's nothing their mullet head fans can do about it.

The Late 60's to the early 70's the Cheifs were pretty terrifying. 3 AFL championships, Destroyed the Bears in the little AFL/NFL crossgame that we now call the "Super Bowl".

It happened so long ago, though, that you're probably not old enough to remember it.

Which is nice. I don't want to live in a world where the Chiefs don't suck. The Dickie V years were bad bad years for all of America.

Still would not call that franchise "storied'

Storied is the Yankees, the Red Sox, The Celtics, the 49ers, the Lakers.

Even the Broncos are not in the "storied" category yet.

Steelers, packers, 49ers and Giants. Those are the teams I would say are storied.

The Raiders have a competent GM? Based on? And the Chiefs don't? Hell John Dorsey is 2-0 with double digit wins over the Raiders GM and got the Chiefs a winning record in his first year. Oakland hasn't had a winning record since 2002.

Is Gaylore just this stupid or is it low testosterone?

I wouldn't say oakland has a competent GM just because he's had one decent draft. Up to this point, he's sucked bad.

I guess I can see the Giants, but Packers? They have won SB's with different QB's in different decades, they have the most storied football stadium, their coach is the name of the trophy.
6 championships before the SB was made and 4 SB's in 5 appearances.

How is that not storied?
