I disagree. You are really content with a rookie playing as the #2CB in the nickel?

Talib - Flowers - Harris looks a lot better than Talib - Roby - Harris

Not to mention Harris is coming back from an ACL injury, and Talib has a history of injuries.

Well Webster made big strides last year and Tony Carter is OK for a 5th CB. A vet CB would be nice for sure but we could spend the money more wisely else where like a vet RB or a vet MLB

Hopefully with their freed up cap space they will give smith a nice fat extension and leave Houston disgruntled.

What a classy move by the chiefs too, wait till damn near training camp to dump a player.

Sad seeing him go but that money is needed for Justin Houston.

Why not get all 3? Cut Dreesen, and the Broncos can easily sign someone like Michael Bush and Dan Connor, in addition to Flowers.

CB is an incredibly important position, and if Harris has trouble coming back at 100% this year, or Talib gets hurt, the Broncos depth is pretty bad. I don't want to see Webster starting yet, and I'll have to see Roby play before I would be comfortable with him getting significant playing time.

You don't understand what happens when you cut a player after June 1st huh? You must be new to the nfl.

Broncos have 4.6 million worth of cap space according to over the cap. Flowers cap number is 10.5 this year.

Who are you cutting to get 6 million?

Broncos have closer to $5M currently, with Dreesen likely gone, and perhaps Tamme too.

That would free up the dough needed to sign Flowers, but I don't see it happening. Still think we keep Tamme, PFM likes him and he's nice insurance in case of a JT or Welker injury.

Clearly but with the cap they have to pick and choose where they spend. Just signing DT may drain what is left. Not saying Flowers would not be an improvement but is it the wisest position to spend. What do you think Flowers market value is?

I don't think Tamme is needed at this point. Lattimer should be a fine WR4, not to mention that Caldwell is a serviceable depth WR. The Broncos may decide to keep Green and Robinson instead of Tamme and Dreesen and save some money.

How much do you think Flowers gets on the open market? I would think somewhere around $6M would be fair, and I don't see him getting much more than that.

If the Broncos are serious about a championship, they need a RB, MLB, and another CB.

No, he is a free agent, his cap hit is 0 - at least to teams not based out of Kansas City.

I dont see us signing him unless he'd sign cheap to screw KC.

Between Roby, Talib, Harris, Webster, we got enough at CB.

Doubt they cut Tamme.

Dres will eventually be cut ala Mays.

Although i think if JT/DT get extensions, that may eat into some of our cap but between Talib, Harris, Roby, Webster, i like what we got at CB.

I mean, if he'd sign cheap to screw the Chiefs, sure, he'll likely want to start/play alot i'd presume.

DT's contract has nothing to do with picking up Flowers. And yes it is a wise position unless you don't remember the super bowl when we had no the but backups playing in the secondary. He would probably be worth around what Cromartie got with the Cards. 1 year 3.2 million.

MLB, meh.

CB for the vet minimum, they dont need to pay 6 mil for a #3 CB maybe.

I love Chris Harris.

Doubt Denver looks to sign him. If it was a cheap, 1 year deal, great. But he doesn't likely start here.

http://espn.go.com/blog/kansas-city-...-cb-chiefs-had

"At cornerback the Chiefs are left with only veteran Sean Smith as a proven commodity, and though Smith is an adequate starter, he's not a No. 1. Their other starter in the offseason has been Marcus Cooper, a seventh-round draft pick last year by the San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs grabbed him off waivers at the start of last season and he played well for a time as their third cornerback.

By season's end, his play had deteriorated to the point the Chiefs felt compelled to move him to the bench.

The other cornerbacks currently contending for playing time are Ron Parker, a journeyman who has been beaten several times in offseason practice, Chris Owens, a 5-9 nickel back, and rookie Phillip Gaines, a third-round draft pick who so far has shown little."
