That's the last 2 years. Times are changing. Hell Eli isn't even a true franchise QB. Look at how awful he played last year? You think he's on his brothers level?

Chiefs need to worry about getting a play-off game QB before worrying about the super bowl.

Here are the QBs for the last 10 SB wins:

Wilson (on the way to being a 'franchise QB')
Flacco (he's being paid like a 'franchise QB' and has won lots of playoff games)
E. Manning (Manning has won 2 titles, is paid like a 'franchise QB')
Rogers ('franchise QB')
Roethlisberger ('franchise QB')
P. Manning ('franchise QB')
Brady ('franchise QB')

So out of the last 10 SBs, you have two HoF QBs, two franchise QBs who have won 2 SBs each in E. Manning and Roethlisberger, and Flacco and Wilson and it's arguable that both are "franchise" QBs as Flacco is getting paid a boat load of money and he's won several playoff games along with a title and Wilson is only in his second year.
Cutler is getting paid like a franchise QB. That mean he's one?
Franchise QB's are guys like Brees, Peyton, Rodgers, Brady and Luck.

These other QB's are not on their level and you're high if you think they are.

You know what's not changing? The fact that the Chiefs can't win a playoff game.

Flacco has nine career playoff wins and had at least one playoff win in each of his first five seasons. He had an 11:0 touchdown- to-INT ratio on the 2012 playoffs. That's franchise to me especially when a first round pick was used to draft him.

It's cute that you think this is a comeback. The Broncos won two Super Bowls more recently than your team won a playoff game.

Let's add Alex Smith to your list of Kaepernick and Wilson. One of these is not like the others.

Let's also take a look at the Chiefs QB strategy for the past 20 years and see how that has panned out.

THIS is your argument? That KC has a shot at winning the SB despite having an average QB like Smith?

I'll put it another way. KC has a shot at winning their first playoff game in decades despite Alex Smith. Maybe.

What is more sad, the fact that since your lame team has won a SB ours has lost 5 and won 2 back to back or your team not even sniffing a SB in your lifetime?

Not even 43-8 can compare to the ass raping you are taking in this thread.

He can't get to the SB with KC's WR and Secondary talent. Sure, if he played with Seattle last year, he would have won the Super Bowl, but it is very hard to build as much talent on your team as they had. Seattle and San Francisco are probably the only two teams that I could see winning a Super Bowl with an Alex Smith at QB.

They sure are working on that secondary.

He's likely replacing Brandon Flowers in 2015. KC still has massive problems in their secondary, and them spending a late 3rd round pick (who had most of those breakups in a below average College Football Conference) on one does not solve the problem. Their WR core has to be one of the worst 5 in the league. Their offensive line will likely be worse this year.

They are closer to being a 5-11 team then they are to winning the Super Bowl

The problem with our secondary was Dunta Robinson, Kendrick Lewis and Quinten Demps, who are all gone.

We'll see about OL, but there are still a lot of good WR's out there. Wonder who they will take tomorrow?

Soon, the seahawks will have to pay RW and a lot of the defensive talent will be gone. Good 'ol NFL parity.

Bad news for the Broncos, Chiefs just took Qb Aaron Murray. The means Alex smith could be on the way out. We need Alex smith to be a chief as long as possible. We NEED
The Chiefs to dump a lot of money at Alex
Smith.

So, KCStud, do you cut Tyler Bray now that Chase Daniel is the backup to Smith?
