It appears kFc is trying to "improve" their WR position by bringing in some dude from the CFL!

The last dude I remember coming from the CFL was Henry Burriss who was a backup and started one terrible game in PS I think.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/c...ressler-020514

The Chiefs have signed Canadian Football League star Weston Dressler to a futures contract, hoping he can bolster a relatively weak wide receiver corps.

The 28-year-old Dressler has spent the past six years in the CFL, where he caught 442 passes for 6,531 yards and 43 touchdowns for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He caught 70 passes for more than 1,000 yards and nine TDs in helping the Roughriders win the Grey Cup.

The Chiefs have not announced the signing, which appeared on the NFL's transaction report.

Dressler was a standout at North Dakota but never generated much interest from the NFL. He is listed at 5-foot-7, 179 pounds. more at the link above.

Too bad the XFL isn't still around for them to steal guys from their pool of players!

Cameron Wake has been pretty damn good since he came over from the CFL.

I like how he caught 70 balls for only 1k yards and 9 TD's. Don't they have a 20 yard endzone and only need one foot for a catch like in college?

Not really. We seemed to keep them from smashing anything but their hopes of winning the division.

Teams make these kind of camp fodder signings all the time at this point of the year. Nothing to get all excited about.

Looks like kFc blew their wad last offseason and their high point is going to be blowing the 2nd largest playoff lead in the history of the NFL.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/c...-agency-031014

They are losing Albert which means a 2nd year player will take over at LT after struggling and not impressing last year at RT. This means they have to find a starting RT and upgrade the inside of their OL which was flat out bad last year.

At least we don't have to worry much about them upgrading Safety, CB, or WR.

Chiefs were stupid not to trade Albert last year. Now they lose him for nothing.

A few teams have been striking gold with CFL players as of late. Miami, Indy and Seattle come to mind.

Yup.

Dumb, dumb move not to take a late 3rd from the Phins who now get him anyway...

If we don't address the huge need at FS and some depth at CB we'll look a lot like the Denver D.

That Colts playoff game was a Denver-esque defensive performance...

From everything I heard, they needed one more year to figure out if they could do without Albert. Now, I think they are comfortable with Fisher and Stephenson as the tackles. It was just a year too late, for that decision...

Only Denver gets Von, Harris, Moore, Wolfe, Vickerson, all back plus it looks like we are going to resign DRC and could possibly upgrade FS or SS over the next day or 2.

kFc gets to pick over San Fran's garbage pile again this year looking for starters on the cheap.

Drafting in the mid 20's is going to hurt them as the quality impact players will be off the board by the time they pick in each round. Plus they may be forced to draft for need vs BPA which will mean reaching on dudes.

SD scares me more this year than kFc.

I saw where they were expected to lose Geoff Schwartz, as well. Alex Smith needs to be VERY worried, with half his offensive line expected to be playing elsewhere...

They lost their slot and return guy in mCcluster when they are already thin at WR.

Not sure how they hope to compete for the division on Charles's back yet again this year after all the work he got last year.

That was a HUGE loss, for them. I'll be interested to see if the local mulletheads grasp this concept...

He was perfect for their dink and dunk pass game, not a great downfield WR as we saw when he dropped a couple deep passes in our game but he can be used like Harvin was used vs us in the SB on those quick routes out of motion and gain 4-8 yards before getting hit.

Chiefs will definitely get a 3rd round comp pick for Albert leaving in 2015. So, they will be getting something. They're losing a lot of guys getting decent contracts (Albert, Jackson, Schwartz, Asamoah, McCluster) so they'll have quite a few comp picks in 2015. Doesn't help now, but still. They don't really have much cap room to sign people to offset those future picks either.

That line is bad though. They lost their best OT and their 2 best OGs. Jeff Allen sucks, Eric Fisher sucks, Donald Stephenson sucks. In one of the best drafts ever, they'll probably have to take Xavier Sua'a-Filo in Round 1 as the best O-lineman remaining.
