SOmeone quoted the Boob and he was thinking that at 38 years of age, Manning can't get to 55 TDs again. Such a weak argument. How many 28 year olds have thrown 55 TDs? NONE! Boob probably thought a 37 year old Manning wouldn't throw 40 tds so does he think NOW a guy goes from 55 tds as a 37 year old to a sub-par offensive QB? If Manning falls off close to 20%, he still has 45 TDS in one season! That is called success for any QB in the NFL.

This is a team on the upswing. I see the Broncos take a step back simply because of Manning's age.

I mean, I knew we would lose the playoff game. You guys KNOW I've been talking **** on my own team all year. They were never that good.

But they FAR exceeded my expectations in the postseason. Very impressive. Alex Smith is gonna be lights out next year.

Beware the 2014 Kansas City Chiefs.
Riiiiiight.

Because he already took a step back THIS year due to his age (37), huh? And all those neck surgeries........

Do I think Manning will get 50 TDs again next year? No.

But do I expect him to have a major dropoff (as you imply) simply because he went from 37 to 38 years old? Of course not.

I agree with this guy. The only reason the Chiefs looked halfway decent this year is because of the easy schedule on top of playing 4 or 5 backup and 3rd string QB's. Next year they will most likely have to play teams like the Patriots, Ravens, Steelers (still a tough win) and Bengals. Also the Broncos twice and Chargers twice. I also see 7-9 for them. Maybe 8-8 if some breaks go their way.

I have brought it up twice.

With the way Thomas has come on at TE and even Caldwell in relief I would rather see Decker locked up and trade Welker maybe getting some help on the D side of the ball, via draft pick or player for player.

It is just a thought, right now I am more interested in talking about a SB run but whatever, critique away.

"The Kansas City Chiefs will try to extend the contract of quarterback Alex Smith this offseason before he begins the final year of his current deal, a source said Wednesday.

Smith led the Chiefs as they went from 2-14 in 2012 to an 11-5 record and playoff appearance this season. He has one year left on a three-year deal he signed in 2012. The final year is worth $7.5 million, all of that in base salary, making Smith vastly underpaid compared to other quarter-backs of his experience and ability.

For example, Jay Cutler signed a seven-year, $126.7 million contract last week with Chicago. That deal included $54 million guaranteed in the first three years.

Smith finished the season a quarterback rating of 89.1, the third best of his nine-year career"

If I'm Alex Smith, I don't sign for anything less then $15 million annually. Some team will overpay on him, if KC doesn't.

I will be so happy, happy-happy, if kc is stooooopid enough to give Alex Smiff a huge new long term contract for $18m a year.

And, another year they won't draft a franchise QB.

Chiefs won't have a last place schedule next year, Bobo. 2-6 in their last 8 games doesn't exactly spell out "2014 contender".

I’ve been on this planet for 30 years now, and in my 30 trips around the sun, I’ve learned two things to be true:

1) If you work in an office, or live in an apartment, and you’ve ever called to report a problem, only to be patched through to a maintenance guy — chances are you’ve been on the phone with someone while they’re taking a ****.

And…

2) The Denver Broncos are the most annoying team in the NFL.

I’m biased, of course. As a Chiefs fan I’ve been trained to hate the Broncos, the seeds planted at a very early age, which have now sprung forth a rather large tree. One bearing very little fruit, but capable of throwing a healthy amount of shade. And much like the inconvenienced maintenance worker, I’m too old and stuck in my ways to ever think about changing.

It’s inherent, my hatred. But the Broncos, over the past three decades, have just made it so damn easy. And it starts with their quarterbacks. I’d wager that no team throughout my NFL fandom has trotted out a cavalcade of annoying a-hole after annoying a-hole quite like they have in Denver.

Don’t believe me? Let’s take a look.

Very funny. Basically he is pissed off that the Broncos have been a winning franchise for too long for his taste.

At least this week they won't have to worry about scoring too fast and wearing down the most DOMINANT D since the 2000 Ravens and '85 bears!

Yeah no joke Steve. All those three and outs (or less) can really get to a defensive unit. Bwahahaa!

Ya the chiefs still suck.

Their fans are nowhere to be found after a brutal sweep by the broncos and a one and done choke of a game.

Pathetic chiefs fans. Just pathetic you all are.
