3 300 yard games going on 9 years of being in the league. He can't throw the ball downfield. As you can see, it floats everywhere but at the reciever.

The Chiefs look competent at least. At the very least, they seem to be a team that is ready for preseason games. Last two years, they looked like a team that skipped training camp.

Only because they have a legit HC and not a stumble bum like Romeo.

You guys should have saved those draft picks and kept Cassell, and find a WR or G/C to go along with your RT.

Cassell and Smith are pretty much the same type of QB but Cassell has a better arm where Smith has better accuracy.

Chiefs had the unfortunate luck of earning the #1 pick in a year where there were no franchise QB's. KC fans would have not likely supported a product that included Matt Cassel as their starting QB.

They would have been better served just drafting their choice of QB's in the 2nd or 3rd round. But they know Arrowhead will be full if the team is at least competitive, and Alex Smith will win more games then any of their other alternatives.

Last year was same freaking story. After a couple preseason games you guys thought you would compete for AFCW crown after Mannings head fell off. Smith and Reid are a match made in heaven. A mediocre QB gets his mediocre coach.

Mediocre coach? Are you really this ****ing stupid?

Reid has done more in his coaching career than most of the current HC's in the league.

I think what else is funny is that this board keeps up this fake illusions that Chiefs fans think their team is going to the playoffs.
So who's saying this again? Johnny dilrod from a message board? 1 homer fan huh?

I've said 7 to possibly 8 wins at the very best, the other Chiefs fan here said something like 8-8 too.

But I guess since some media people say that so it means all fans say it.

And if Alex Smith threw that to Baldwin would he have caught it?

pretty funny that you are calling someone stupid.

Do you even know ANYTHING about Andy Reid or just assuming? Since I live in DC, I get NFC east heavy coverage; essentially every NFC east game since it is skins territory.

Andy Reid is a stubborn man. He will pass, pass, pass because he is so obsessed with it.

Get ready to pull your hair out with all the turnovers and dumbass decisions. Not that you aren't already a **** show.

I see it playing out like this: initial energy and buildup from coaching change and then gradually Andy Reid will turn you into the same inept team but have you pulling your hair out because of his obsessions and dumbass decisions.

It's funny how you rip on Manning for his choke jobs yet embrace Andy Reid for his.

At least you are consistent.

Does Sheepstud really find everything he posts so hilarious? It seems like every post he makes has his him rolling on the floor. I don't know of another poster who is so amused with themselves.

"I always said Alex Smith was an average QB. "

"You think we believe we're making the playoffs! "

"I had corn for dinner last night. "

Is it really that funny? Or is that his version of the period?

It's like some kind of narcissistic reflex...

Got to keep the long standing tradition of garbage QBs in KC continuing.

Huard, Brodie Frail, Cassell, Palko, Orton, Brady Quinn etc.

The last time a qb drafted by kc won a game for the cheifs was 26 years ago.

I'm not one of them, just happen to live in KC so usually catch most of their games. They were way worse the last couple preseasons, not like that means anything.

Bob....if its any consolation your boy toy Geno Smith sucks too just as I told you he would so you actually ended up with the best realistic option in Alex Smith (given the FA and draft pool for QBs) even if he isn't anything special in his own right.

You know what is funny is that kFc, a team desperate for a QB doesn't bother to draft one yet Denver who has the best QB in the league made sure to pick one each of the last 2 years.

KC definitely drew the **** stick as far as QB draft options at 1.1. this year. Still, why burn two 2nd round draft picks to trade for Alex Smith (basically a more mobile Kyle Orton), when you could have just signed Kyle Orton to a stopgap deal and drafted a QB project in the (2nd or 3rd round.)

Because they already did the Orton experiment.

I understand that the fan base would not have welcomed back Cassell but to hamstring 2 drafts for a guy who may be more accurate but less mobile and who has less arm strength is just plain dumb.

They could have reworked Cassell's deal and Reid could have got him to a Nick Foals level or better and they could have drafted some much needed OL depth, a young QB to groom, and maybe an Impact WR.

They brought Smith in to appease the fan base which was just plain dumb.

Sorry, still think Geno is going to be a good QB.

EJ Manuel looks good, too.

We ****ed the bear, as usual.

I get not taking a QB at 1.1 in this draft, but in the 2nd or 3rd rounds? Inexcusable if I'm a Chefs fan, which I thank God everyday I'm not.

Could have taken half a dozen QB's from rounds 2-4 and at least occupied a roster spot with potential upside instead of Daniels and Stanzi.
