Yeah, KC should win that game only furthering the hype. I wouldn't be surprised to see KC at 5-4 or so at the bye, only to free fall soon after. If they can't beat Jacksonville, they are probably looking at 3-4 wins tops.

Know Jack Harry in KC has all but guaranteed Denver loses the Baltimore game and KC wins against Jacksonville.

I just don't get how a team with so many Top 5 draft picks is consistently picked as a dark horse to win the division

The Raiders will be down again because they have no QB. The Chargers are already riddled with injury. But we will probably at worst be a 10-6 team. The Chiefs are coming off a 2 win season. Our 4 wins against a difficult schedule in 2010 to 8 wins with an easier schedule in 2011 wasn't as difficult as the what the Chiefs will be trying to accomplish. I do think the'll be better, but I do agree that every year a bunch of people pick the Chiefs as some kind of sleeper pick to make the playoffs and every year they have failed.

Last years' team was more than just one coach and a QB away from being a playoff team. 6-8 wins is their ceiling.
We also had a team riddled with injuries the previous season. And a coach in Josh McDaniels that was probably about as bad of a head coach as Romeo Crennel.

Every year a new team makes the playoffs (pretty sure it's 1 every year in each conference). It's happened something like 7 or 8 years in a row.

So taking out the AFC playoff teams from last year (DEN, IND, HOU, NE, CIN, BAL) and teams that are just a train wreck, I think you basically have either MIA, PIT or KC as the new playoff team.

I think PIT is the best overall team of the 3, but they play in the toughest division in football, so it's going to be much harder for them to make the playoffs.

Wait, so the Chiefs aren't a complete train wreck? Did you get a partial lobotomy to forget last season or something?

He's trying to hope the chiefs do what the colts did. Go from number 1 draft pick to playoffs.

Doesn't realize the colts number 1 pick was monstrumental in getting them there, while the chiefs number 1 pick doesn't have that impact.

I really like what Alex Smith is going to do in KC. He's just good enough to take advantage of a good defense/run game to lead KC to mediocrity but not much more beyond that. The exact kind of QB for the same kind of coach.

I never said the Chiefs were going to the playoffs and I have said about 50 times that I'm not an Alex Smith fan.

Reading comprehension is not your strong suit.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me if the 2nd place team in the AFC South misses out because 3 teams from the AFC North get in.

Captain check down is going to get his head knocked off with that Oline. Can't even handle niners 2nd string D.

How's he doing on those 3rd and 7s? Well I've seen nothing but floaters 10 yards away from the reciever when the ball is being thrown more than 15 yards in the air. 3rd down conversions still horrible for him. Classic Smith.

The Chiefs are the definition of an 8-8 team. I'll set the window at 7-9 wins. They're going to struggle in the redzone offensively. Bowe still hasn't learned to run a route. Smith looks like the pre-Harbaugh Smith.

They'll win games against weaker teams, but they're not going anywhere.

Smith looks horrible against the niners scrubs. Hilarious they still have their starters in there going against scrub niner defense yet can't get anything.

Chiefs first string offense basically got their salad tossed by the Niners back ups all half long

Charles means a lot to that team

I've been saying this for months.

This was a top 3 defense against an offense without Jamaal Charles. Of course they were going to look better. 49ers defense is amazing, especially that front 7.

But it's okay they'll get to laugh at Manning and his annual choke job.

why is moeaki playing with 1:00 left in the 4th? I thought he was just a younger version of Tony G who can block.

I know that preseason is preseason, but still. Alex Smith can't score points against the Niners 2nd team defense. I don't think he pulled the trigger on a single intermediate passing play, much less a deep ball.
