The birthday threads are fine and in context. We don't need scantily dressed women in game threads - they're out of place, they don't belong, they piss people off, especially me. As far as the avatars go, it's the same as ever. Keep it within the lines of decency, but once it reaches vulgar or ponrographic, mods will react.

I'm not saying I do or do not agree with the posting pictures rule, but I've wondered about people who do not like to see them, why not also turn off the ability to display them?

You have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts.
