Dawkins says Tebow “laid hands” on injured neck

From time to time, some of you have joked that Jets quarterback Tim Tebow should try to heal injured players and/or opponents.

It’s time to stop joking.

Safety Brian Dawkins, who played for the Broncos during the two years of the Colorado version of Tebowmania, told Alex Marvez and Jim Miller of SiriusXM NFL Radio that Tebow tried to heal Dawkins’ injured neck last season.

“In our Bible study sessions when my neck was pretty bad and I’m hurting, [Tebow] along with our chaplain and [Broncos director of player development] Jerry Butler laid hands and prayed on me pretty good,” Dawkins said. “They brought snot and tears to my eyes and all that type of good stuff with prayer.”

We present this information without opinion or comment. Because we suspect that at least 100 of you, maybe a lot more, will have something to say in the comments

Lets hope he doesn't pick up that other great catholic tradition of laying hands on young boys....

If you're in to it sounds fine. The mind is incredibly powerful in controlling the healing of the body - whether you want to call something like this a miracle or placebo effect doesn't really make a difference.

nothing wierd about it...

this is typical for many Christian churches...

some members in a church along with the head of the church will collectively lay their hands on an individual seeking prayer and then pray for healing...

this is a non story...

All this article is saying is that they prayed for the neck to heal while putting their hands on the injury. They were not praying for a miracle or anything.

I can see it already, this is going to be taken completely out of context.

Congrats on more BS.

Taco, this is why your sight sucks.

When I was in college, a religious football player tried to lay hands on my legs to "heal them". It was just funny...

This is true. My mother-in-law is devout and does this on a regular basis.

Dawkins and Tebow have strong faith...they believe in the healing powers of God....what is wrong with that?

I may poke fun at his inability to throw a football accurately, but I'd never poke fun at his faith....

I always knew Taco had bad vision. It is apparent when he speaks of QB play.

Perhaps Tebow could lay hands on TJ's eyes?

Maybe we should start a thread on Taco's vision based on a "source".

I've got 20/20 vision in my right eye, but 20/15 vision in my left eye. My sight isn't *that* bad.
