Pat Robertson: A Manning injury would serve the Broncos right
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...broncos-right/

Television evangelist Pat Robertson says the Denver Broncos didn’t show enough loyalty to Tim Tebow, and they may pay for it this season.

After the Broncos traded for Peyton Manning and traded Tebow to the Jets, Robertson said he thinks it demonstrates that Tebow isn’t appreciated. And he said that if Manning’s neck injury keeps him off the field, the Broncos will be sorry.

“I think the Denver Broncos treated him shabbily,” Robertson said, via Mediaite.com. “He won seven games, he brought them into the playoffs, for heaven sakes. I mean, they were a nothing team. He rallied them together with spectacular last-minute passes and, you know, when they beat Buffalo — I mean, Pittsburgh, excuse me — it was a tremendous victory. And you just ask yourself, OK, so Peyton Manning was a tremendous MVP quarterback, but he’s been injured. If that injury comes back, Denver will find itself without a quarterback. And in my opinion, it would serve them right.”

It’s not often that we turn to Pat Robertson for football opinions, but hearing an odd opinion from an odd source feels like par for the course in this craziest of NFL offseasons.

This is the guy who said at New Years eve 2006 that he was 100 percent sure that God told him there would be a nuclear attack against the US in 2007.

He's also predicted the end of the world a few times which have come to pass.

He also claims he can leg press 2,000 lbs.

The guy's a nutjob.

But to be fair, he's saying that if Manning got injured, it would serve the Broncos right, not that it would serve Manning right.

I'm surprised he didn't predict natural disasters and frogs to drop from the sky.

Pat Robertson is a ****ing ****. He is completely, totally delusional. The world would be a much better place if he dropped dead.

Gods wrath!!!!

BTW... I have always thought people like Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, etc. have been an irreparable black mark on a faith that has so much truth to it.

Shame on Robertson.

Heard a lady on the Dave Logan show today say that this is like the end of the Roman Empire when we worship men (Manning) and throw Christians (Tebow) to the lions.

It's a mindset.

Your response is myopic and a huge generalization & and just a ridiculous as his idiotic comment.

Have posted a few times, been an 'observer' for a long time. Enjoy the site...most of the time.

I love Jesus with everything that I am. He is my life.

Are some Christians like this...yes sadly. Robertson is a fringe 'personality' that is not is step with orthodox, Biblical Christianity. Tebow and any legit, bible-competent individual would never think that injury would 'serve them right'. That is so far from truth and why it is extremely hard being Tim because he gets lumped into the same 'camp' with Robertson.

Robertson is a wacko. It is sad that he does have a voice.

Side Note:
Sorry that you have been so hurt, offended, etc. by Christians that you feel that your first response is to lump people like Tebow and myself in with fringe 'characters' like Robertson.

A comparison unintelligent people always use. It's like comparing political parties to the Nazis, or calling someone socialist without even the most basic understanding of the underlying principles.

I'm angry and confused so I'm going to use the only analogy I can think of!

See my response to Spider.

Again. I apologize on behalf of all legit Jesus-followers for uninformed wackos that have no real understanding of the way of Jesus.

That guy needs to shut up already. He's a disgrace to the name Christ because Jesus is about love and grace. This is not the approach Robertson ever takes.
