Default Barrel Man's Son: "[Tebow] Can't Carry...Manning's Jock"

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/77...ture-tim-tebow

Quote:
A couple of years ago, "Barrel Man" -- Tim McKernan -- was dying of lung failure, and he had one last wish. His lung capacity was about 15 percent, but he had to see another Broncos game. Denver owner Pat Bowlen put him up in a suite. McKernan died a few weeks later.

His son Todd said he's sure McKernan would've loved Tebow. He plays hard and doesn't complain. He wins. But Todd McKernan said it's impossible for any Broncos fan not to root for Manning's arrival.

"I'm sad to see Tim Tebow go," he said. "But from a football standpoint, he's a little bit behind Peyton Manning. How do I say this? He can't carry Peyton Manning's jock. It's not very nice, but we haven't had anything close to that since Elway."

last night I watched the History Of the Broncos (up until 2006) DVD. It was late and I was beginning to doze off, I heard the part where Barrel Man says "I'm a Bronco fan for LIFE..24/7 365 days of the year....and I want EVERYBODY to know it" man i heard it and it gave me chills, i hit the rewind button and watched it again.

I miss the Barrel Man. Thought this was an interesting quote from his son and think it mirrors many Broncos fans' opinions who don't spend time on Twitter spamming Elway's account.

I just heard from the cousins of the guys who wear the giant orange pom-poms over their bodies to every game. Apparently, they hadn't heard about the Manning trade because they are actually Teletubbies.

all that really matters is what Thunder 2's owner Sharon Magness Black thinks.

I go into the black hole with bronco gear on. Section 105 every year. With all the Norte sureno violence in the bay area it's far worse to wear a niners jersey in the black hole. They have undercover agents sitting in sections 104-107 now. Back as a kid I got hot dogs and beers thrown at my head.

Kind of a crummy quote to pick from a surprisingly great article.

Tebow appears to be on his way out. It's time to let go, I think.

I heard the 9 News chopper was tailing Barrel Man's second cousin twice removed to get his comment on our punter situation.
