OT: Kony 2012 guy arrested for masturbating in public

A co-founder of Invisible Children, the group behind the viral hit “Kony 2012,” was detained by San Diego police Thursday night for allegedly masturbating and being drunk in public, NBC San Diego reported.

Police said they responded to calls of a man screaming and running through traffic “in his underwear,” according to NBC San Diego.

He also was allegedly vandalizing cars, San Diego police told the television station.

Russell is the narrator of a controversial video released last Monday by the organization, which documents the atrocities of Joseph Kony, a Ugandan warlord who kidnapped thousands of children to use as soldiers in his Lord’s Resistance Army, which terrorized the country in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Indeed, it is.

This is an interesting article. They showed the film in a Ugandan city that was among the hardest hit by Kony and the LRA.

They didn't like it all that much. Apparently, about ten minutes into the film, they started vocalizing their concern - basically asking what this white man and his little boy had to do with the fact that a lot of them were maimed and/or missing loved ones who had been kidnapped/killed by the Kony regime. They never got to see the end of the film, as some of them apparently became so angry, they started throwing rocks.

They also asked a question that probably should have seemed obvious to a lot of people, if they would have been given the information. Why was there so much attention being given to a guy who had fled the area like a coward almost seven years ago?

Not that I care THAT much. I just found the whole situation a little amusing.
