Default Mario Williams Poll: Worth 100 Million?

Quote:
Williams' deal could come in around six years and be worth $96 million with $50 million guaranteed, according to league sources.

Would you want Super Mario in Denver for $100 million dollars?

100/5... is that not 20 million a year against the cap, on average?

All it takes is one desperate team.

Until his injury, Doom was actually more productive.

Pass. I like our pass rushers.

We could've signed literally every top FA DT available last year and spent about half that amount of money.

Nope. Pass rush is not our problem. Coverage and internal rush defense are our problem.

Would love for Mario to be a Bronco but not at 100 million. Good for him.

I think it is high but watching what Peppers did for duh bears D the last couple years I wouldn't have been upset if we did sign him for that much.

only a real game changer merits that kind of cash. He is just a moderately above average DE.

I'd take it, just chalk off like 35/40 million of that this year while we have it, make him cheap the rest of the years.

Rediculous money. Especially guaranteed portion.
Glad to have missed out on that "opportunity"

Would like to see something going on, but the numbers being spent on many of the signings are just crazy. I'm not sure that any of them are real.

I thought there is a Hard salary cap. This is just driving the costs up for even average players.

Under the right circumstances, I think he is, a team like the Broncos have no superstar, bringing in Williams for that kind of money would cement the notion that the team is committed to winning. I can see a number of teams that it wouldn't make sense for, but for a team like the Bills or Broncos I think it does.

Depends on how the guaranteed money is structured over the 6 years. I bet the unguaranteed money is based on incentives. However, even if he just earns his base guaranteed money it comes out to less than $10m a year.

Aren't the Broncos paying Doom like $14m a year?

That is what I was thinking... like I said earlier, Bills trying to find the next Bruce Smith. And at this point.. Mario Williams is not even close to be compared to Bruce Smith.

I would be happy that we got him if he signed that deal here. We have tons of cap space and it isn't my money.

How else are the Bills going to get players of his standard? They can't. They can't offer Super Bowls. Probably can't even offer playoffs. They HAVE to overpay.
