Default Cardinals 16.4 million over the salary cap...

wow, is there any possible chance AZ will be able to fit him under the cap in a realistic time frame?

I'm sure they could lower the number, but I just don't see how they can do as much for Manning as the Broncos can do. They have the warm weather advantage, and they have Fitzgerald. Other then that, Denver is better in almost every other area.

even if they can clear the space, how are they going to get the money to sign other guys to help the team?

I'm sure their proposal was that they do not need those players because they already have them in place.

partially true, but even if its a comfort thing, denver has that ability to get guys who can help peyton and AZ does not.

what the hell is their plan to get Manning and his guys in Arizona. Ask them if they'll take an IOU?

Financially they can find a way to get under. I guarantee Fitzgerald or someone else good on their team (couldn't even tell you, Dockett still there?) could restructure to allow for such a move. I heard them potentially getting rid of Levi Brown, but I don't see why Manning would be enthusiastic about playing for a virtual unknown (be it draft choice or whatever FA they can land -- who is available?) protecting his blindside.

Denver has the ability to promise Manning his best contract and secure other players along with him. I would have immediately consulted those in the know and talked about bringing in Reggie Wayne with him as a negotiating point if their relationship was a positive. It isn't a huge signing, but I do feel it improves the team.

That doesn't mean I'd talk about every Colt that has been getting slashed lately, but I think Wayne is a logical player to go with if he has the passion and belief he and Peyton can flourish somewhere.

If Peyton has former players and friends that live here, from a social aspect that probably would appeal to him. Not that it couldn't be available in Arizona, but I think that is a positive moving forward with us.

I know this sounds corny, but John's career pinnacle achievements came at the very end. I think that story and experience could relate to Peyton personally and sway him here. Elway would work for that because he's been there, done that.

Peyton, please be a Bronco.

levi brown is 14.5 million, their ILB is 6.5 million, both of which are going to be restructured or released.

I heard on the radio if they cut Levi Brown, then sign Calais Campbell to a multi year contract then they will have the cap room.

So basically they need to clear $30 million and cap and won't be able to sign Reggie Wayne or any of Manning's friends?

He'd be ****ing retarded to go to AZ.

Also, to reiterate a point. Playing in the NFC wouldn't be very family friendly. He'd be stepping on his little brother's turf.

Yeah its been talked about before here. Cutting your LT is a great move when trying to land a QB.

Levi is what, 17 million? Then Calais is something like a 10 million hit. They can't pay him nothing this year...and even if they did pay him nothing. Manning would get something like $10 million a year? That's way too low.

If they are almost $17 mill over, that makes no sense.

Brown is due a $17 million cap number and $6 million roster bonus on March 12.

He's more than that.

...and yeah. Let's cut our starting LT.

Also...if he's due this bonus tomorrow (not sure what time) that should give us a hint.

It will be a shame if we cannot pull Manning in. He would no doubtedly bring in Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark.

I'd just kill to see Decker and Thomas with Manning hucking the ball.

You add in Wayne too and holy ****.

Shame Royal never lived up to his rookie year with us.

that doesn't say much in the way of Peyton. even if they don't get Manning, they still may cut Brown tomorrow so they can make a run a Flynn, or just to have a little cash for free agents, and also money to sign draft picks.

right now they are in a hole, and regardless of whether they get Peyton or not, cuts and restructures are going to happen.

So even if cards clear enough for Manning, with Fitz there and no money probably not to Wayne or any of Peytons other buddies.

The Cardinal fans seem to think everyone will just sign incentive laden contracts:

1. Sign Manning
2. Incentives
3. Super Bowl!

Manning probably liking the fact Broncos have cut salary last few yrs. They have ditched all the cap problems they had. Manning can come in and play his last 2-3 yrs not worrying about the team having to cut tons of players to keep him, or get him. We can afford Manning and some other players to help, and trade Tebow for another draft pick.

don't forget the more than likely arrival of Dallas Clark. Brandon Lloyd is on record as saying he would definitely return to Denver to play with Manning. Garcon is a free agent. If Manning signs it is quite likely that Denver is infused with a ****load of new talent by weeks end.
